She slowly turned the doorknob, afraid of what was inside. The cellar was said to be haunted, because a man once murdered his family down there. Tragic, really. Her name was Jess, and she was known as a troublemaker… So when she got attacked and told her parents, they did not believe her. Then the same man who killed his family tried to kill THAT family! Oh… Wait… This sounds a lot like The Messengers… Oh yeah, I watched that last night. Haha nevermind.

Is doorknob perhaps the origins of the slanderous term knob? or is it nob? And if so what horrible defect does a doorknob possess to call for such criticism. Personally I find them rather useful and sometimes witty. The witty part is a story for another time though.

The first step into another world is to turn the beautifully crafted doorknob. Through the entrance there will be a world in which hope becomes reality. However, the world will be lost among cluster if the silver plated door is not opened. All that needs to be done is reach for the knob and twist but fear paralyzes every fiber and muscle.

Sometimes, I think about what it would be like to feel lonely. If I had chosen to stay, if I had chosen to keep my mouth shut. There’s a parallel universe out there where I’m with him, and we smile and laugh every day. We fight and make up. We love too much, and sometimes, not enough. But there’s only one universe where I’m happy, and it’s this one.

Where would we be without doorknobs? Possibly the biggest invention ever next to the wheel. I hope I find a doorknob collector in the area. It would make a terrific story!

A doorknob is how you can turn it to open up the door and a doorknob can be expensive or cheap,it can look beautiful

The doorknob can be beautiful and can be happy also it can be expensive or cheap.a doorknob is when you turn it and it open up so you can walk
You’re dumb as a doorknob. Do you not know that bamboo is a type of grass. I mean, yeah it might be tallk and strong like a tree, but you know, looks are deceiving. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

I already got doorknob. What is there to say about the word doorknob further than what I already wrote in my previous paragraph? It’s quite an odd work, what with its k and its plethora of o’s. Knob is a funny word as well. Often used as slang I find it quite hard to say in normal conversation without feeling odd; and door, what a strange word. If you stare at door it seems quite odd.

I twist the doorknob then stop. my room smells like smoke and I’m nicotine buzzed. keeping secrets in my own home. I love the excitement but I shake at the consequences. I live for petty thrills and imitative coolness. when I exhale I’m as smooth as the night. I’m where I want to be. In my own head I am the epitome of made

it didn’t sit properly in it’s cut out. i could see a sliver of light, like the last or first inkling of the moon at the bottom of the cheap, industrial doorknob

the door knob, a faded brass which reminded me of the instruments I used to watch with a compelling mixture of joy, envy, and sorrow. They were my escape. A sea of shining brass mixed with the soft amber woods, held to together with the singing strings.

It is something used to open locked doors. It helps us. If it weren’t for it, we won’t be able to come outta rooms. It can be the sphere thing or the handle type.
By Rithikha on 07.14.2012
you just hold onto it or push it & it opens a door or cabinet. it can be decorative or boring, any color & it’s a knob for a door. i don’t know if you have any particular one in mind, but some door knobs can be very attractive. although in the past, i haven’t really thought much about a doorknob – iiiiiiii guess we just take them for granted.

The doorknob was cold. No, cold is the wrong word. It was freezing. The golden oval that shined too bright against the sunshine flooding in from the window. A startling contrast compared to the heat radiating from our bed and his warm body, exhausted from our late night adventure.

I ate a doorknob today. It tasted minty. I don’t know why I ate it, but now I am glad I did. Maybe tomorrow for lunch, I will eat another. I wonder what goes well with doorknob.

Lindsey’s heading toward the darkness as she closed the door behind her. The doorknob felt cold. She swears she hears it says “Don’t go, stay inside!”.

There was a knock at her bedroom door. And she stared closely, baffled and frightened. There was no one home; there was no one coming to visit; this was just not possible. The doorknob began to move side to side, rattling harshly and the youth stared in horror through wide, hazel eyes. What was happening?

Rose looked down at the door, the doorknob was calling her, The Doctor was just on the other side, in his room alone. She just wanted to talk to him, since they’d been stuck on Krop Tor she’d been having nightmares about the beast, replaying what it said to her over and over again. She needed some comforting.

Doorknobs placed on doors open things. Without doorknobs, no openings. I don’t think a lot about door knobs. I just reach out to open a door and instinctively my hand meets the doorknob and the door opens or closes. They fit so ever nicely in the contours of our hands do doorknobs. Not angular or spiky. Curvy, oval, round, wooden, metal. Cool, warm, used. Think of all the hands that have touched a doorknob…. All the stories of all those hands…..
By Kim on 07.14.2012
Well, a doorknob. Without a doorknob, you could not possibly open the door. Well, maybe you could if you pushed the door with all you strength. But, I think without a doorknob, a door wouldn’t be a complete piece.

It is usually round in shape and you can open doors with it. It is always attached to doors and is usually made from wood, metal or even plastic. Maybe most materials can make door knobs.

I recently saw that the knob down at a local coffeeshop (well not a knob, but those sort of bars, doorhandles you could say) had been frozen in place. The door could still be locked, but otherwise, there would be no turning of the knob. It would be frozen in an open position, for pushing and pulling. It would never truly remain shut again. Not in the real way. Or the bad way of shutting out that I’ve become accustomed to.

On the back of my bedroom doorknob is a red ribbon. I read in a Feng Shui book that a red ribbon on the back of the bedroom doorknob will bring romance into your life. Within 5 months of hanging it there, I met Harry and we are now married and madly in love.

I opened the doorknob slowly, as to make as little sound as possible. It was cold to the touch. The doorknob was an ornate, golden and shiny metal one; I wouldn’t even be surprised if all the doorknobs in this grand place were at least gold plated! I can smell the varnished wood, and as I open the study door the smell of stagnant air and dusty books.

i use it when i enter and when i leave. it’s very helpful, something like an eraser in school. sometimes i get hit on it and it hurts pretty bad due to it’s rather unusual shape.
i like doorknobs because they represent i can enter something new
