  1. Durations a pretty interesting word. I guess it pertains to the duration of time, or well that’s dumb. It pertains to the time passed, and maybe the start and end of a situation. Really it makes me think of Lisa, but everything makes me think of Lisa. I don’t know what the duration of our time will end up being together, or if we’re really together. I mean what’s being together? I don’t know, that’s not really relevant, the word isn’t together, it’s duration. And I want a long duration with Lisa.

  2. for the duration of the time I was there. I didn’t know what to do. I wandered about the rooms, trying to catch sight of someone I knew, but there was nothing. No one. I couldn’t stop and meet new people. I wasn’t good with new people. So I did the only thing i could do. I got drunk.

  3. I had to hold the poor child down and still as possible for the duration of the test. It wouldn’t be so painful if he hadn’t been through this so many times before. I hold out hope that this time will be different. This time we will have the results we are waiting for. After this test, we will have answers.

  4. duration has to do with time passing and what you do during that time. For example, during class I tried to stay awake and take great, clear notes, but was so tired that I fell asleep instead. Duration can feel like a second, or like a millenium depending on the situation.

  5. Duration is a word I’ve already written for about a snobby celebrity who can’t stand commercial flights and is complaining.

She’s complaining because the duration of her flight has been extended ten minutes and she thinks this wouldn’t have happened if she wasn’t on a commercial flight. She’s on her way to an awards show.

I think she’s a total diva who should fall out the airplane window.

  6. How long it lasted I do no know. All I know is that I was in pain. A pain unlike anything ever felt before. Why I suffered through this I do not know. For some reason I was chosen. Me. Among hundreds of others, they chose me. Why? I may never know.

  7. Duration. It’s the time it takes to do something. The given time to do something. It’s time itself. Who determines the exact duration of something. A flight, a drive a day? It’s curious really.

  8. Every morning, I have a staring contest witht he mirror, hoping that if I look long enough, something in my face will change. I still have yet to find the right duration of time.

  9. When I think about how long I have to be here, it seems interminable. Time piled up upon more time, like old books and magazines shoved in a corner in some hoarder’s house that no one ever visits. Time is gone.

  10. I’m in this for the duration. I don’t know how long that will be,but you got me no matter how long it takes. I said I do and I did. I meant it when I said till death we do part.

  11. It’s a relative term. Too short when you think of weekends while working. Not long enough when you have a big project that needs to be done thoroughly. It relates to what you can endure. Therefore it’s about your own attitude toward time.

  12. For a period of time, that’s what it means. The duration means that eventually, the subject in focus will come to an end. Does everything come to an end? Perhaps. Things last for a span of time but nothing can last forever. It can be as small as a breath or as long as the sun shines. But things must make way for the new.

  13. For the entire duration of the movie, I was away from reality. My physical self was in the crowded, dirty, popcorn-scattered theater area, while my mental self was absorbed in the movie. For that hour of my life, I witnessed myself and others shooting guns at an unidentified monster, running for our lives from a tornado, and stuck in a sloppy romantic kiss. But then the credits started to roll, and the dim lights turned bright again. It’s amazing what movies can do.

  14. The duration of the average cigarette is about three to five minutes. Less if you’re shit-scared about making a deal with the Devil in the next few hours.

  17. I’ve been trying to quit smoking, the duration period is the worst. I’ve heard from many people that 3 days cold turkey will make you be done forever or until you choose to start again. I can’t get past the three days, hell I can’t even do one.

He shook his head. “Just let me see.”
“No,” she said again, and he leaned against the opposite wall and smiled.

  31. It sickened me for the duration of those weeks. Long silences were cut by desperate attempts at closure. While I finished the book and read no further, others looked for a hidden ending. 32. during the duration of the last video i watched i couldn’t even tell you were my mind was. it was kind of like i was wandering alone in the woods looking for you, searching for your face, seeking your smile. 33. It was difficult at first to learn to unlearn. I had to fight my instincts and torture my screaming body, begging me to stop. It was a masochism I didn’t even enjoy. It was a masochism I had to inflict upon myself from a third person perspective. I needed it–my body needed it, my lungs thick and phlegmy.

For the duration of the ride, I drove on in silence, hoping to God that they didn’t notice that I was a little redder than usual, praying that they wouldn’t notice the pools of water forming in my eyes, hoping that they would never, ever realize that it was their fault that I would be alone during this trip and all of the others.

  39. Some things seem to last forever. The duration of my life so far seems like a vast expanse when I look back, and yet I still feel far too young to make any important decisions. Nothing fun seems to have a long enough duration. I want so many things to last longer than they do.
