  1. I dreamt of you last night,
But perhaps not in the way you are thinking
Or in a way that I would have liked.
I dreamed that we were talking
And the entire time, I felt wholly
    And utterly foolish.

    And let me tell you,
Never in my life have I doubted my intelligence.
But lately, around you, I do.
    Words fail me – I’m tongue-tied,
While you seem to speak so freely.

I woke up this morning feeling even more fatigued
Then I had the night before.

  2. Everyone, sleepless.
    Loveless and hopeless.
    The world has a sickness
    called fatigue.
    No one can cure it.
    We’ve brought it upon ourselves
    Because we’re all lazy.
And we’ve become too lazy to care
    to want to change it.

  3. Every day I sit and ponder what it is I need to do with myself I have no idea what to do and I search for meaning in a world where it feels so dry to the touch this feeling takes me away to a place where I must stay sad and done with time not spent.

  8. I feel tired more lately. I always end up sleeping about nine hours even if I go to bed earlier than I normally do. Why is this happening? I wish I could get up earlier so I could be more productive rather than start my day at 11 am. This is something I should work for.

  9. The stress was finally getting to me and the fatigue of not sleeping night after night was just too much. Dropping down onto the soiled couch, I put my arm under my head and allowed my eyelids to close. I fell into an immediate deep sleep.

A sound woke me. I don’t know how long it’d been. My eyes flew open and my body froze, listening intently. They had found me. I rolled silently off the couch and crawled to the edge. I could see the nose of a rifle just peeking around the door frame.

  10. It felt like I was tired more often, but I was also happier. It meant I was taking less for granted; I was packing more into my day and going to bed feeling accomplished and truly fatigued. I didn’t wait for sleep to take over my body; it came freely, crashing over me until the sun peeked over the clouds and started my day. Every day counted now because it wasn’t all a blur anymore. I was living.

And I wasn’t going back to before.

  11. when we finish you’re damp and warm
beside me, but i never open
    my eyes to see

if you’re troubled or happy, if your hair

    all from your sighing

never certain if i’m wishing you away
or not wanting to be awake
    to watch you leave

Whenever she slowed, they twinged, and tears began to run down her face once again. She had never been touched so, but to have had such a creature to such things. The memory of burned stakes holding burned heads… It would haunt her.
