  1. I guess sometimes I look in the sky and I see my grandparents that have passed away. I think about eternity. I think about God. I think about my life. Where it’s going.. Who I have things to say to that I haven’t said a word to. I have so much to do, so much to say. I wish I had the courage a lot of times to say what I think. To do what I want to do. No more wishing.

    by Grace on 04.02.2011
  2. Is the place we all sit and live and learn and hate and care and grow and share and eat and sleep and wake and go and stop and love…

    by Chris on 04.02.2011
  3. the galaxy is such a large place. stars. planets. moons. the sun. if you really think about it, a person is nothing but a fleck of dust in the large galaxy that is life. the large galaxy that protects us but can threaten to engulf us at any moment. the galaxy is this huge arbitrary term for something bigger than any one single entity.

    by Amana on 04.02.2011
  4. the galaxy is beautiful, full of wonder and madness. stars shinning all around, floating among the milky way, as it wraps around you in a sea of stars and light. wrapped in complete beauty.

    by Shelby Fogarty on 04.02.2011
  5. huge. no words to describe it. where everything we know to exist belongs and will belong until we discover something larger than us. reminds me of Brian Cox and the wonders of the universe. i love that program.

    by Kdc on 04.02.2011
  8. stars are there and it’s swirly and I like it and there are bunches of them and it’s awesome. Who knows where God’s house is? I sure don’t that bastard. I should knock on his galaxy door. He won’t like it. Lik,e I don’t like jehovah’s witnesses. So there, God. I mean, we’re cool, but hey, I need to know where you live.

    by Jennifer on 04.02.2011

  11. the galaxy. home to all of our nine–ha, psych–eight planets, astro-belt, stars, etc. it’s supposed to be quite vast and all…but if you think about it from the perspective of the universe–not so vast anymore, is it?

    by Jenna on 04.02.2011
  12. Galaxy,
    You are infinite.
    I live inside of you.
I look up at your stars, your freckles
As I stand on your heart, the earth.
    Infinite, yet finite.

  13. I see the stars and I wish that I could always see them. I always wanted to watch the stars with you. Being with you made me feel important, and sharing the sky would be sharing the world. I miss you.

    by Kara Kirby on 04.02.2011
  14. “Galaxy” is a funny word because it has an “xy” at the end and a “gala” at the beginning. Therefore, the word itslef is pretty darn cool. Especially because there is a cetain symmetry to it… well, at least to the “ala” part of it. It’s a very interesting word and I bet I could come up with a very deep explanation of its form.

by Jose Miguel Rosillo on 04.02.2011
  15. Galaxy,
    You are bright
    You are infinite.
    Galaxy,
    I am here.
    I am inside of you.
    Stars are your freckles
Planets are your heart, your stomach, your liver
    You are infinite.

    by Adrian Sanders on 04.02.2011
  16. Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away. This words makes me think first and foremost of Star Wars. Then I wander off and things such as God? come into mind….eternity, infinity, void….

    by Loren on 04.02.2011
  17. the galaxy is endless, the rhythm flows constantly and there is no change. boundless. black, never ending. like skin. the skin of a girl who is dancing and dancing. her skirt riddled with stars. she will dance forever

    by nina on 04.02.2011
  18. The stars shine brightly against the ebony sky. The last lights of the galaxy shine on for a while, but one day they must tuirn off. And that day would be horrid, the day the world, the galaxies go black. No more light, no more colour, black, and thats all.
So enjoy the light while it’s still there, cause It won’t be long till they’re gone.

    by Phen on 04.02.2011
  19. The galaxy is rather far and unreachable. I find it strange that mankind keeps on gazing up at it and wondering what’s out there, when there’s really no point.

Laaalalala. Of course I may be under the influence of alcohol or whatnot.

Stars aren’t really dots, really. They’re huge chunks of shiny stuff out there. Or something like that.

    by givemeabeer on 04.02.2011
  20. The beauty of the galaxy lies not in its immensity or in the sparkle of its stars, rather in the fact that what it holds is unknowable to us. Humans have a tendency to lose themselves in the pursuit of knowledge, and having such a place where knowledge is not even a concept to be considered, offers a sense of calm and security knowing that we are not only not required or expected to know all, but we are not even capable.

    by Yonca on 04.02.2011
  21. space, endless stars and planets. everything and anything. infinate beauty and power. mysterious.

    by jp on 04.02.2011
  22. the thing in which we live. the thing in which the rest of the universe is comprised, thousands, even millions of them. Where luke and his gang overthrew the empire in one far far away. what has captured the attention of our species for our entire history as we looked toward the stars, searching for answers

    by Matthew on 04.02.2011
  23. I laid there with him, curled up next to his side, his warmth radiating into me. We both stared up at the starry galaxy before us, knowing that it was never ending, and no one knew what it held. I thought to myself, “This is how I feel about him…” and to this very day, seventy years later, I still know it as true.

  24. I got lost in your galaxy
When I got out of the shuttle
    All I saw were stars
    Shining for you and me
    Please don’t go
    (Let’s float forever)

  25. The galaxy whizzed past her as she settled into the seat of her pan-galactic freighter. She was terribly happy that all her troubles were now several light years behind her, rotting in the basement of her mother’s house.

    by Vieve on 04.02.2011
  26. the galaxy is beautiful it has all sort of stars and the moon and the world is in it. sometimes i wonder if there are other galaxies somewhere, there probably are because it would be weird for it to only be this one galaxy, the milkyway. it’s a lovely galaxy…i think, i don’t know it all. but the earth is nice and i love it even though we are destroying it blah blah blah

    by Paulina on 04.02.2011
  27. I got lost in your galaxy
When I got out of the shuttle
    All I saw were stars
    Shining bright
    For you and me
    Please don’t leave

  28. The galaxy is rich with idiots. Mainly those of the planet Earth. I say population control is in order in our Milky Way galaxy, but that would just be…illegal. If only we could…

    by Tsuki on 04.02.2011
  29. tiny galaxy

    by MJ on 04.02.2011
  30. vast; billions of suns and for every sun a billion galaxies. To think we are the only sentient life epitomises our arrogance

  31. The galaxy is a wide, void that can consume you in it’s vastness of knowledge. The Galaxy is filled with stars, planets, and the all of life’s secrets.

    by Claire on 04.02.2011
  32. I looked up at the sky. There were plenty of stars- some were dull, some were bright as can be, twinkling away. I thought about how far away they were, and about something that my science teacher once said.
“The stars you see are more than two light years away.” He said. “The light you see was made two years ago, finally making it’s way here.”

    by Maria on 04.02.2011
  33. When the galaxy arcade tried to branch off into the Galaxy Country Club and Casino, it didn’t have quite the same ring to it.

    by Lauren Scharf on 04.02.2011
  34. The galaxy is huge and beautiful, and in our galaxy we only live in the outskirts. I would love to travel in space and see the galaxy but I feel as though I would be horribly disappointed, because the notion of space travel makes me think of Treasure Planet, which unfortunately is not very realistic at all.

  35. In a galaxy far far away….

    NEVER SURRENDER! NEVER GIVE UP!

Oh my gosh all the things that come to mind with the word galaxy… Infinite space… infinite combinations….

I panicked about that once. In short, since I’m almost out of time, it occurred to me that if I was “lost in space” outside of our galaxy -heck probably even INside our own galaxy, I would have no freaking idea how to get home. NO clue which particular speck of light, among the billions of specs of light, would be our solar system. I still don’t know.

  36. Across the galaxy. Through time. He told me it was easy, told me he would take me to see the stars. I didn’t believe him, not at first. But then he showed me. Showed me the wonders of the universe. There is so much more than we ever thought possible. We fought battles together, side by side. Then he left me. In a strange world, where I wasn’t meant to exist. But I will find my way back, because that man needs me, more than he realizes.

  37. In a far off galaxy, littered with bright orbs splashed across dark blue sky, Emerald reached into his pocket and brought out the GALACTO BLASTER 4000. It was time. Time to shoot for the stars. He aimed his blaster at a shooting star. Cocked. Shot. BAM. The star fell. Fetch!

  40. Once upon a time, in a galaxy quite conveniently close to here, a wondrous new theme park opened. However, when I visited it for the first time, it was raining, so the rides were not open. I was sad.
