Sparkly but not quite – glimmer is a slice of an image that is mostly hidden from you. It can be a glance at something or a brief sparkle. It can be the start of an idea.
Things glimmer everywhere I look, everything but me. I stand here in darkness and shadow, no glitter, no shine, I am blank, empty and nothing. Everyone glimmers from head to toe, except me in this glum world of mine. I wish for one ray of light, but it never comes, so I begrudgingly accept my fate.
I always wonder where this will take me. Some days there is a glimmer of an idea and the words come tumbling out through the keys. Other days I count down the seconds so that I don’t leave myself enough time to get any ideas out at all. And then there’s days like today where I fall into a pattern of typing to a beat.
Glimmer. The sword glimmered in the light, a flash of silver blinding him for a moment. He took it as a good omen. He stepped forward, each footfall confident. There was no more turning back. Today was the day he would win his freedom, or he would face his death as a slave.
I was laying on the boardwalk watching the glimmering if the stars. I tried counting them one by one, but quickly lost track. I glanced over and said, “Every star stands for the years I want to spend with you, and infinite eternity. You are mine and I plan to keep you here.
Glimmer of hope – a sparkle of delight – the tinest piece that will come true. A glimmer is just the perfect amount to keep you going. You are not saturated. I once felt a glimmer of hope and it built into the real pleasure called life.
I can’t imagine going back there. Not to the place that causes me so much misfortune, stress, and loathing. But I see the glimmer of hope at the end of the seemingly dark and horrid tunnel I’m currently stuck inside. But sometimes, it’s just not enough.

i thought maybe it existed maybe life wasn’t as it certainly seemed for so many years but as my head hit the pillow i realized not that it was all a lie but that maybe i had just convinced myself otherwise that everything would be ok forever that things would come easily that chances change things that being completely open and truthful can get you exactly what you want but that glimmer of hope was simply a reflection off of the tears in my eyes
Her hair shone in the sun, like that, when the light was just right and the setting sun was barely visible above the horizon. He thought she looked perfect, she thought she looked far from beautiful. The slight gleam of her hair made the black look auburn, he thought. A gorgeous undertone that made him feel special, like he was the only who knew that secret. She thought it made her hair look like it was rusty, tried to hide it by tossing it up into a ponytail.
You shine, yes that’s what you are born to do, to shine. And when you shine, you shine our worlds as well. And I don’t understand you when you disappear or dim away. I don’t understand how you can do that to us? Don’t you know that we can no longer handle living without your shine. So don’t stop shining, and when you feel you’re a little into dimming, please reconsider it, and at least glimmer!
