  1. Sparkly but not quite – glimmer is a slice of an image that is mostly hidden from you. It can be a glance at something or a brief sparkle. It can be the start of an idea.

    by Donna Rae on 01.01.2012
  3. Things glimmer everywhere I look, everything but me. I stand here in darkness and shadow, no glitter, no shine, I am blank, empty and nothing. Everyone glimmers from head to toe, except me in this glum world of mine. I wish for one ray of light, but it never comes, so I begrudgingly accept my fate.

    by Erin on 01.01.2012
  4. I always wonder where this will take me. Some days there is a glimmer of an idea and the words come tumbling out through the keys. Other days I count down the seconds so that I don’t leave myself enough time to get any ideas out at all. And then there’s days like today where I fall into a pattern of typing to a beat.

  5. Glimmer. The sword glimmered in the light, a flash of silver blinding him for a moment. He took it as a good omen. He stepped forward, each footfall confident. There was no more turning back. Today was the day he would win his freedom, or he would face his death as a slave.

  7. Glimmer of hope – a sparkle of delight – the tinest piece that will come true. A glimmer is just the perfect amount to keep you going. You are not saturated. I once felt a glimmer of hope and it built into the real pleasure called life.

  8. I can’t imagine going back there. Not to the place that causes me so much misfortune, stress, and loathing. But I see the glimmer of hope at the end of the seemingly dark and horrid tunnel I’m currently stuck inside. But sometimes, it’s just not enough.

  9. There was something in the pond outside my house that caught my eye one morning. I had gone to get the mail and when I walked by, I saw a glimmer from the surface of the pond. I looked closer and saw that it was only the sun, but the sky was full of clouds.

  10. Glimmer. The first thought that came to me: Vampires. How utterly depressing is that? Vampires are supposed to be ruthless, evil, spawn-of-Satan-esque monsters that feed on humans. Like something Sam and Dean Winchester would run into. Not a bunch of romantic, human-loving sparkly pansies.

  11. glimmer in the night as if you were a million sequins on a beautiful bride’s dress. Glimmer is kind of a weird word I suppose. It sounds like a word that a snobby person would use. Or is it?

    In the snow

  16. May there be the glimmer of a hope for a happy new year. May there be healing and knowledge of my own mind and the courage to stand by my decisions.

  17. A glimmer of hope looks a lot like the flicker of a flashlight above your head, not when you’re trapped in a ditch or hanging off a cliff, but when you’ve nestled your head between your legs and rock back and forth against the porch step where the lantern’s burnt out. And all you want to do when you see that glimmer is run to it hoping it’s the red-faced and rugged cowboys come back with your missing daughter and brother at long last.

  18. Taylor Swift, Wonderstruck. That’s what “glimmer” makes me think of. I think of a shiny purple bottle topped with a golden lid. I still want some of that stuff, along with Tresor’s midnight rose. I’m too poor for those kind of luxuries.

  19. Her eyes were clear turquoise they must have carved from a cave
A pure rawness that looked like it had been pulled straight from the source
Unpolished, unsmoothed, just its raggedy pure blue
Yet they had a glimmer that could not be denied, a strength no one could match
She was a raw diamond, rough yet flawless.
