there is a glimmer in my eye
brought on by my tears
brought on by my hopes and dreams
there is a glimmer that makes me look ahead, not behind
it tells me to forget my past
to forget my fears and my trials
to look to the things I have won and cherish them

A glimmer of hope, shining throughout the darkness. Anna walked through the cave, toward him. “You came,” she whispered. “Of course I did. I promised, didn’t I?”
“Maybe this is a sign. Maybe things will start to get better.”
“Maybe, but I think you’re being a little too optimistic.”
She sighed, before throwing herself into his arms.
“A glimmer of hope is better than none at all.”
He couldn’t help but smile as he wrapped his arms around her, finally breathing for the first time in a while.
“I suppose you’re right.”
And they didn’t say anything else for a long, long time.

The stars in the sky shine bright through even the darkest night. Their reflection rests on the lake, the glimmer of a world far away. A glimmer of hope for a world that is still innocent. I glimmer of what could be and has been.

Out on the water was a boat. Around it; the sun glimmered on the lake’s surface. There were no worries in the world. Not even as the old hound dog jumped out if the boat. Despite the age, he went to fetch the stick that the old man had thrown. The old hound dog broke the surface of the water and doggy paddled as fast as he could to the stick. The glimmer in the old man’s eyes was greater than anything.

A glimmer of hope is often refferd to in a romantic manner. Glimmer, however, is small, almost insignificant. Like walking off the train only to see he was on the train the entire time. Its not significant because it wont change anything. But you still cling to it.

Glimmering and shining the coach made its way over the crest of the final hill. The wheels clacked on the paving stones as it lurched to a stop, the doors swinging open. Our stepped the most beautiful girl in the world.

Glimmer of hope. watching it fade.
He isn’t any different. He hasn’t changed.. It’s just another lie.
Why do I want to believe him? don’t know, doesn’t matter.
I’m resisting, I won’t believe him. Not again.

He glanced up and saw a glimmer of gold in the distance. Smiling, Will turned up, knowing that the person that he would see would be Golden. His frown vanished as he met Cecilia’s angry stare. She had been scrutinizing him for twenty minutes, but Will had just noticed.

Yesterday was New Year’s Eve. Many things SHOULD have been glimmering, like my new party dress, the disco ball, the champagne splashing in crystal cups. The Christmas lights left outside, the fireplace. Shine, glimmer, sparkle.
But I stayed home sick.

Just a glimmer of hope. Enough to catch the eye. Enough to change your mind. Enough to change our hearts.

You shine, yes that’s what you are born to do, to shine. And when you shine, you shine our worlds as well. And I don’t understand you when you disappear or dim away. I don’t understand how you can do that to us? Don’t you know that we can no longer handle living without your shine. So don’t stop shining, and when you feel you’re a little into dimming, please reconsider it, and at least glimmer!

Her hair shone in the sun, like that, when the light was just right and the setting sun was barely visible above the horizon. He thought she looked perfect, she thought she looked far from beautiful. The slight gleam of her hair made the black look auburn, he thought. A gorgeous undertone that made him feel special, like he was the only who knew that secret. She thought it made her hair look like it was rusty, tried to hide it by tossing it up into a ponytail.

i thought maybe it existed maybe life wasn’t as it certainly seemed for so many years but as my head hit the pillow i realized not that it was all a lie but that maybe i had just convinced myself otherwise that everything would be ok forever that things would come easily that chances change things that being completely open and truthful can get you exactly what you want but that glimmer of hope was simply a reflection off of the tears in my eyes

refreshing night air chilled the anxious atmosphere.
“ten! nine! eight! seven!”
i was standing right next to him. his beautiful blue eyes were widened in excitement and concentration as he watched the great ball drop.
“six! five! four!”
despite my usual cynical attitude, i smiled unconsciously as we were bathed in shiny confetti.
without warning he grabbed my shoulders and pulled me into an enthusiastic kiss. idiot, that was a second too early. my smile widened.

There is a small glimmer of hope in the distance. A small piece of peaceful contentment for a lonely man who was sitting all alone on the park bench. A small child ran over to him and said hello. They sat there and looked up to the sky and watched all the glimmering stars above them.

A sparkling sensation that you can see and looks like faries. That sparkle that is all over Edward Cullen’s body when he was a “vampire” on Twilight. A gay sparkly thing.

Her eyes were clear turquoise they must have carved from a cave
A pure rawness that looked like it had been pulled straight from the source
Unpolished, unsmoothed, just its raggedy pure blue
Yet they had a glimmer that could not be denied, a strength no one could match
She was a raw diamond, rough yet flawless.

Taylor Swift, Wonderstruck. That’s what “glimmer” makes me think of. I think of a shiny purple bottle topped with a golden lid. I still want some of that stuff, along with Tresor’s midnight rose. I’m too poor for those kind of luxuries.

A glimmer of hope looks a lot like the flicker of a flashlight above your head, not when you’re trapped in a ditch or hanging off a cliff, but when you’ve nestled your head between your legs and rock back and forth against the porch step where the lantern’s burnt out. And all you want to do when you see that glimmer is run to it hoping it’s the red-faced and rugged cowboys come back with your missing daughter and brother at long last.

May there be the glimmer of a hope for a happy new year. May there be healing and knowledge of my own mind and the courage to stand by my decisions.

A glimmering ray of light shone through the trees, penetrating the fog that had settled from the night before. The smoke from the fireworks still filled the air. As the light hit my eyes, I felt hope about the fresh start ahead.

glimmer in the night as if you were a million sequins on a beautiful bride’s dress. Glimmer is kind of a weird word I suppose. It sounds like a word that a snobby person would use. Or is it?
I glimmered in the sunlight
She was glimmering as she trotted down the staircase.
ehhh I don’t really know

Glimmer. The first thought that came to me: Vampires. How utterly depressing is that? Vampires are supposed to be ruthless, evil, spawn-of-Satan-esque monsters that feed on humans. Like something Sam and Dean Winchester would run into. Not a bunch of romantic, human-loving sparkly pansies.

There was something in the pond outside my house that caught my eye one morning. I had gone to get the mail and when I walked by, I saw a glimmer from the surface of the pond. I looked closer and saw that it was only the sun, but the sky was full of clouds.

I can’t imagine going back there. Not to the place that causes me so much misfortune, stress, and loathing. But I see the glimmer of hope at the end of the seemingly dark and horrid tunnel I’m currently stuck inside. But sometimes, it’s just not enough.

Glimmer of hope – a sparkle of delight – the tinest piece that will come true. A glimmer is just the perfect amount to keep you going. You are not saturated. I once felt a glimmer of hope and it built into the real pleasure called life.

I was laying on the boardwalk watching the glimmering if the stars. I tried counting them one by one, but quickly lost track. I glanced over and said, “Every star stands for the years I want to spend with you, and infinite eternity. You are mine and I plan to keep you here.

Glimmer. The sword glimmered in the light, a flash of silver blinding him for a moment. He took it as a good omen. He stepped forward, each footfall confident. There was no more turning back. Today was the day he would win his freedom, or he would face his death as a slave.

I always wonder where this will take me. Some days there is a glimmer of an idea and the words come tumbling out through the keys. Other days I count down the seconds so that I don’t leave myself enough time to get any ideas out at all. And then there’s days like today where I fall into a pattern of typing to a beat.

Things glimmer everywhere I look, everything but me. I stand here in darkness and shadow, no glitter, no shine, I am blank, empty and nothing. Everyone glimmers from head to toe, except me in this glum world of mine. I wish for one ray of light, but it never comes, so I begrudgingly accept my fate.

Sparkly but not quite – glimmer is a slice of an image that is mostly hidden from you. It can be a glance at something or a brief sparkle. It can be the start of an idea.
