  6. Habits are hard to break. Once you start something and keep at it, it takes even more time to stop. As a single person, I have a ton of bad habits. But I try to keep them hidden when other people are around.

  15. sometimes I think that the whole life is a habit. the habit of waking up, going to work, giving your spouse a kiss in the morning, work, going home, eating, sleeping and the whole damn thing the next morning.
    But then there are moments that are new or special and make you feel good. Like when you see the two-year-old of your neighbour giving you a wide grin without any reason whatsoever.

  19. I have a habit of biting my nails and skin when I am little tensed. I had this habit when I was in school and I am not able to get rid of this now. Because of this my skin is not good on my fingers and my nails are distorted. I am trying to get rid of this.

  23. I have a bad habit of putting things off. This is why I’m writing this. I’m not doing my job, and I don’t plan on it. This may never change, although I wish it would. Because when I’m done writing this, I’m going to be forced to return to the world of….

  26. I have some really terrible ones. Writing papers almost exclusively after 6AM the day they’re due, for instance. That’s sort of what I’m doing this morning, too. Not sure if the effect would be the same if I just slept until 6 and wrote; I think the staying up and being “stuck” is part of the process. Sometimes, if only for grades’ sake, I wish it weren’t.

She wanted to go over and loop her arms around his torso. He looked like she could hug him all day long and he wouldn’t mind.

    He cursed aloud.

    He prayed the same prayer: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee–not with me, oh, never with me.

    He still didn’t feel forgiven.

  29. Oh dear, habits are sometimes decidedly bad. So hard to break, although someone did tell me once that to break a habit you do the new habit 21 times in a row, day after day and the new habit will prevail… I shall have to try it… but on which habit… oh dear…

  40. I like habit. Ritual may be boring, but life is structured around it. It needs to be. Being a camp counselor taught me that. My kids needed routine, and my knowledge of that need exacerbated my need for it. in the beginning of this semester, i was going crazy from lack of routine. Now I’m good.
