  1. Attention to attainment, a tension. There are smiles placed in convenient spaces and with the simplest of whispers erased.

    by A. Yayo on 10.07.2012
  2. There was the cake. There were 14 candles and the people who didn’t care wether she lived or died surrounded her, their smiles plastered on and ready. The fire glared ad they all surrounded her and again she felt small. “I wish for happiness” she thought. The flame was now gone. Later in the night, she could hear the putter of rain, and ran out. The drops drenched her, and she could feel all of it slowly wash away. She smiled, ran and danced. For a moment the gaping hole was smaller. For a moment, in the fleeting joy of harsh rain -she was happy.

  3. Happily ever afters. I never understood them or cared enough to but now I was really starting to wish that I was a princess and I would get swept off by my Prince Charming. Not that it was going to happy anytime soon. Sometimes when I dream, I wish, and I wish that maybe one day after everything works itself out I’ll be standing there donned in white with him telling me that my life was a fairytale one that went badly but I’d get another chance at happily ever after. I could always wish.

  4. An emotion so often overlooked by the torments of the day, which are far too many and with far too much attention paid to them. Happy is an emotion I feel in a certain picture in my mind. Its dawn, yet the sun’s glow is warmth here. I’ve done my readings, I worked yesterday and have another two days off. I wrote a great story just last night and will write another in an hour. I arrive at a field and run, tall grass spreading in my usher, no sound but the wind, no animal but me and I, alone, smile with the sun on the horizon, thinking of the strength of my brother, the memory of my dad, the lessons of my mother, and everything, that’s allowed me to come to this moment. Here. Just…happy.

  5. She was happy, for the forst time in her life. After all of those years, drowning in pain, the sun had come out. She felt alive, recharged.
No one knew what wa going on inside her mind at that moment, but some could tell from the distant tears in her eyes and the slight upturning of her lips.

  6. happy days, happy thoughts, happy smiles happy rots

  7. I would love to be happy. It should not be hard. Being happy should be the first requirement of being human. There is so much to be happy about. Just look around, abundance is everywhere…and yet…

    by paulie aragon on 10.07.2012
  8. I never knew the feeling, it was always so foreign to me. As I was growing up, I saw somber looks in my family member’s faces. As if there was always a death. I knew why when I grew up. I was sick and always had been. They treated me differently. I was never happy after I realized I was different, that I was strange. Broken.

  9. When you’re happy, you smile a lot and the world seems brighter. A lot of things can make a person happy, like spending times with their friends and family, or the person they’re in love with. However, a lot of things can make a person unhappy. Like when they lose someone near and dear to them. However, being happy is a great feeling. It’s one of the reasons to live your life.

    by Shian on 10.07.2012
  10. Happy is an urge that comes upon and can not be controlled. Happy is when every fibre sighs “it’s gonna be ok” and an uncontrollable smile rises from cheek to cheek. Happy is feeling infinite and living on the edge of tomorrow.

  11. OH this is a relief to see this word. happy. I first think of the song, by never shout never, happy. I takes me think of my boyfriend who has recently come into my life and made me beyond what I ever thought happy could be. Happy is something my friend is not because she broke u with her girlfriend today. isn’t it strange that that is what makes her happy, a girlfriend. happiness is so unexplainable.

  12. Most people think frogs would be happy creatures. They would be wrong. I haven’t been happy once in my goddamn life. Flies and lily pads, what sort of life is that? There’s no substance, so excitement…I am so disappointed with what I have.

  13. I smile.
    Teeth showing white
    eyes glistening.
    Wrinkles form around my
    eyes and mouth.
    Genuine.
    I am
    happy.
    It may he temporary,
    or it may last.
    No one knows.
    I just smile.
    It is
    genuine.

  14. Happy… She looked up and saw his face. His sun-baked, freckled face. Eyes twinkling with ambition, heart beating with triumph. Dirt streaked his ruddy cheeks and sweat shined on his forehead. He looked at her with the one look he gave no one else. The look she owned and he grinned playfully. She felt content and proud. She knew that this was one of the happiest moments of his life. If he was happy so was she.

  15. Happiness is a warm balloon full of my favorite song. Happiness is an envelope filled with love, and hot chocolate after sled riding while still dripping with snow. It’s cold toes next to the fire and autumn leaves and cardigans. Happiness is whatever that one thing is that makes one moment feel like it is the only moment that matters, the only reality in the world that contains any importance, and the only thing that makes you feel like your on top of the world.

Love is like a little boat upon the sea
Everybody is a part of everything anyway

  23. From my sleepy haze, a smile slipped across my face. The tests and projects and homework on my desk didn’t matter; all that did was that I felt right with my place here and who I was with and what I was doing. I was moving forward as comfortably as I pleased, and I had never had that privilege before.

  24. i was walking along the road in the middle where everyone says you shouldn’t walk, you know right in between those yellow lines when all of a sudden he took my hand and he started walking beside me. i had to look up to him to meet his eyes and we just smiled. and then i silently prayed that this moment would never end. and walk we did.

  31. I am happy. Complacent. Happy to know that in a few years, I will be doing amazing things, meeting amazing people, falling in and out of love; eating fantastic food; going to the most extraordinary destinations that God has laid out just for us. There are times where it won’t always be easy: there will be times where I am still searching for what the world has to offer, listless, and maybe even when I would want to find the flattest part of the Earth to walk off of it. But, I digress, because, at the moment I am happy and I will still work to be.
