  9. once upton a time i had two heels, but now I just have one. I fought in three wars with two heels. i lost one heel to a goddam ifd…it was painful, and i still feel my hell now and again. ghost pains i think tey call them. we were in a humbee, and the ifd went kaploom and my leg went with it.

  11. Higheels are girl’s best friend, but just topmodels can use them correctly. I will have to learn using them, if i want to become one. Otherwise people won’t believe me, I am one. My big goal is to reach the point they believe in me. That would be great.

    Thougtfully, as a child, I studied my foot and prodded around the rolls of fat to see how well they would squish. They were strange with the tiny little bones underneath them, the particularly solid ball at the back that wouldn’t squish no matter how hard I pressed.

    I wonder why they chose the name soul, though. Heel and soul… Healing the soul?

  39. Achille’s tendon. I feel bad for that one dude with glasses on campus who everybody probably thinks he’s gay because the way he walks (his heels never touch the ground) but really his achille’s tendon is too short. I wonder if he’s jewish.

  40. She ran. Ran so fast and hard and long that her girly shoes began to rub and blister her heels. Fright does that to you. Puts you in a position of frenzied retreat that means you possibly hurt yourself in a way that you’d never do under calmer circumstances.
