  1. I remmeber in high school I didn’t like history much. At least the class,. i loved watching history shows, and I loved watching national geographic and learning about the different wars. Especially anything from other coutnries. I wasn’t so much interested in

  3. seconds passing, labeled, marked, recorded for the real judge. History be thy name. You can hold to it, build off it, and or, also, etc, etc. It is there.

  5. History class was boring. My history teacher kept on talking about the war of 1812! I almost fell asleep.

    by Alice on 06.24.2011
  6. history is a funny thing.. we all know it tends to repeat itself. my best friend moved next door in 3rd grade, and before that had moved to sleepy hollow when she was only 6. who would have thought that she would move again? i guess it was inevitable,.. just one of those families that can’t really stay still. well now i know how her olds friends felt. it sucks

  7. History is too old for me. Why should I bother learning from the past mistakes or triumphs of others? By doing so, we aren’t living our own lives, but reliving those of others. We live in the present and should live our own lives, make our own mistakes, and discover the world.

    by TT on 06.24.2011
  8. the time and place in another realm, beyond our life and before our conception. A period of growth and decay, death and life, that we can only hear through whispers and shadows. Never shall we truly understand it, but it is always there, lurking behind us, growing larger and larger every day.

    by patrick on 06.24.2011
  9. HIstory…they say if you don’t learn it, it’s bound to be repeated. I’m not sure I agree with that. I look at all of the stupid mistakes humans have made in the past and see them making them again right now. War, violence, cruelty…we did it in the past and we’re still doing it…we’ll probably continue to do it. Maybe instead of learning about the past, we should learn about how we can improve the future.

  11. History is what you make of it. It’s not something you can plan. History is the things you remember at family gatherings, or when you grow old with someone. History is having a past with someone and remembering it in the present. History consists of hate, love, betrayal, and many, many memories. You can’t change it, it is what it is. So live for today to make history.

    by AvaAva on 06.24.2011
  12. i wish i could put everything i did in the past, make it history. because i would give ANYTHING to take back what i did the other night, absolutely anything. now i’m super paranoid and ohmygoddd if anything happens, i will just die. i don’t know wtf i would do. i’m freaking out and i need someone to rewind the clock for me, please?! that’s all i’m asking for, a quick backtrack button.

    by Catey on 06.24.2011
  13. Some people have stupid history that they’re really proud of, but shouldn’t be. Some people have that kind of history that no one really wants to hear about, like “I’m descended from beet farmers from the Czech Republic” Oh really? That’s fascinating. Tell me more about these Beet Farmers. I bet they’re full of interesting history.

    by Zoe on 06.24.2011

  16. it’s old. It happened. It’s learning. It’s fun. It’s scary. It’s eyeopening. It can be smelly. It can be fuzzy.

  17. person who can not able to prove themselves

    by Prabin on 06.24.2011
  18. Lots of old things to learn from. It can repeat itself and is very interesting. You can learn a lot buy listening to people that have lived it. Sometimes does not matter because it is in the past.

    by benie on 06.24.2011
  19. history changes from day to day, as our perceptions change along with it. what is written in the books is entirely dependent upon the person who discovers the information. why is what we study in history more important than the things we don’t? there’s so much that we can’t learn about because we don’t have enough time in the year – but why isn’t that important too?

  20. The thing is, I never thought I would be known like this. I thought I would be known for “The weird girl that never did much of anything”. Instead, I would be going down in history as the chick that took a guys eye out in a fight to save Olympus. Well that’s just fantastic.

  21. History is something that has already happened. The dinosuars are anceint history. People who dont stuidy history are doomed to reapete it. History is reapeted all the time.

    by Bays on 06.24.2011
  22. History is one of the most important aspects of life. What happened in the past depicts what we do now and in the future. Without the past we would not have had the ways paved for us to do great things.

    by Chelsie Pope on 06.24.2011
  23. written by the victors.
    what does that mean?
    teach that curriculum
well…. it didn’t exactly happen that way
the Indians went on a long walk?
    ROADTRIPPING…
    actually not.
there are a lot of things you don’t teach elementary schoolers
but in fact who knows real history?
    it’s a story.

  24. At the beginning of time, we were one. Hand in hand. Eyes locked and hearts intertwined. But as time goes on and days become past. History becomes present and so did our time together.

    by Spencer Campbell on 06.24.2011
  25. History is something that has already happened. The dinosuars are anceint history. People who dont stuidy history are doomed to reapete it.

  26. is about the past the present and what we become as a result
it is who we are and what we have done that shapes the choices we make
there is no future for humans without knowledge of our history and ignorance, although bliss, is really fear, weakness and self involvement

    by anon on 06.24.2011
  27. What makes history? The winners of course. History is shaped by whatever the winners deem correct. How did we win the war, is easily translatable to how ‘they’ lost the war. It’s often at times the best intentions get waylaid by simple things – the ‘right’ version of events, whatever that could possibly be, are slowly eroded by the point of view of the winner. When you think about it that way, what the hell do we know? It’s a horrible feeling at first, but you’ll get used to it.

  28. History for me is smells sights and sounds, put yourself back there, write it like you smell it I say.

  29. mrs. zehner…o geez. i actually think of the literal meaning of history, like the high school subject? but then i think of us, and our’ history’. hahaha oh history. i might actually text you today, so we’ll see. maybe ill be friends with you again soon.

    by anna on 06.24.2011
  30. Oh I never liked that subject. but an intwersting topic. They say history repeates itself. The word has something vwery mysterious and charming about it. A word starting with ‘H.’

  31. We’re all part of something bigger, but at the same time we are only a part of what is taking place immediately around us. I can’t think of how hard it is for some people who are constantly yearning for more; like something beyond themselves. What is in front of us, that is all we can deal with, the past is not ours and the future is uncertain. All we have is what is directly in front of us.

by Michael Del Monte on 06.24.2011
  32. When it comes to making decisions, the temptation to remain fixated on your history is always there. But, if I’m perfectly honest, I’m not entirely proud of my history.

I’d much rather make choices that look to the future.

  33. its out foundation. Whats new today will be history tomorrow. And whts history tomorrow will me a myth day after. So does that mean that all myths were actually true. If not then does all history graduate to become myths? dont know.

  35. History is something that is subjective depending on the storyteller. We rely on history to shape our decisions and perspectives on future and current decisions but is it something that we can truly depend on in such situations? We have seen in various first person documents that there two or more sides to any story and the recanting of events can be obscured by prejudice and personal opinion instead of a search for the truth.

  36. world war 2 was a turning point in our nations history, but the thing that started it all was the roaring 20s. with the huge economy boost, and then the crash of 29, world war 2 was the only thing that could save us from the depression. together, they make one of the most interesting eras in our nations history.

  37. ‘Check your history!’ That’s his catchphrase. I wander in and out of the front room and he’s sitting on the sofa, watching yet another WWII programme -on the history channel, of course. History- I can’t get away from it!

  38. religon, life, was time, hitler, stalin, a never end story, emily bronte, educationnevntions, dicovery

  39. And so it started again. Drake insisted that we leave and go back to the UK, he was obsessed and I did not understand why. After almost being killed (and that must have been a good deal for an immortal!), he still insisted on saving someone who did not want to be saved even if too young to know it. History repeated itself.

  40. History is all about knowing about the past to get a better understanding about the future and the present as well. Many of us relate history to that of long occurred wars, treaties, excavations. Well, history can’t be confined to a core subject. History as a word has a long’ history’ it means the story. Every minute thing has a story to tell thats why we say History speaks and for many things we first search its history to know go further with it. History is always needed in every nook and corner of the life. Pat can’t be ignored just like that.
