  1. I always thing about how all these little things in history don’t go together really well and I wonder what happened to make them that way. I wonder about what would happen if the losers did write history would it just be liike, yeah I lost and it sucked but you know the guy that beat me was a dick anyway so whatever man it’s all good. I wonder you know?

  2. Just what I love. What we long for, the history of that feeling. I know a lot of people say its what you are, and they are right. Even if you hate that statement, it has to come into effect. To look foward to the future and change means that you are thinking about history and the things you used to do

  3. ugh. all i can think of when i see this word right now is him. and i’d rather not be thinking about him on my birthday.

  4. The history lay in the books…the books full of dust. Neglected and kept too long within the reach of the sun’s rays. One day someone will pick up the book and learn what was long forgotten in the old and torn pages.

  5. london. a city choch-full of history. which shows how the buildings look. old brick buildings. i wonderedhow building such edifices required so much time and effort. but it must also be easy to destroy the buildings. bulding something always needs much, much more time and effort than destroying them.

  6. One of the most boring subjects in school that we actually learn the most from. I often find myself at the end of the school year remembering more what I learned in history than any other class… and I never, EVER pay attention in history. It’s very strange. Oh, and knowing your history facts also helps answer tough jeopardy questions :)

  7. history is my favorite subject it reminds me of my freshman year and seventh grade. I have always had great times in every history class i have every had. I want to go to Africa and volunteer.

  8. History is part of everyone. History means something is over with. We learn from history. It teaches us lessons. History is my least favorite class but it is something that is in everyone’s life.

  9. I don’t remember you, but can we go back?

  10. We had a history, him and me. One full of dirt and blood and dirty looks. So you can imagine my surprise when he called me asking for help. I mean, this guy hated my guts! But I decided to help. I’m a good guy, see. Except, he wanted me to kill someone.

  11. history is what you learn in school. you think back on important times in the past. Good or bad things have happened, either way it is still very important. It may be a history with an ex or a friend. History is just something that was done in the past.

  12. Everything I’ve done .
Full of emotion and feeling .
A record of every regret and every risk .
A story that hold all the tears and smiles of past .
    Moments , a collection of moments .
Moments that had no impact told with moments that shattered my world .
Moments that brought a laugh said in time with moments that healed my soul .

  13. I LOVE HISTORY.ITS MY FAVORITE SUBJECT MOSTLY EUROPEAN HIST. MY MOST RESENT TEACHER IS COACH WINKLEMAN.

  14. “Our history is a special one,” murmured the old woman to the children as the rest of the clan busily unpacked the caravan. “We are the children of the Trees, we are the children of the Moon. This you must know before you can begin any of your studies.”

  15. You and I….
We have a history. One that no one will ever fully understand.
I just wish it wasn’t just history.
I wanted you and I to be past, present and future.

  17. history should be interesting and easy to remember. we don’t seem to learn from it though; we repeat the same mistakes over again. why can’t we tell it in such a way that tells both sides evenly and be interesting enough to remember correctly?

    by Lynn on 06.23.2011
  18. Everything is history. The entire world and everything that has happened is history. The last two sentences I wrote are. And with everything being the past, it’s so easy to get caught up in it. It’s all I know, it’s all I’ve experienced. But that’s like quicksand – it’s hard to climb out for the future. The scary thing is, the future will be hisory too at some point. It’s a neverending marathon I can’t win.

  19. History is a weird thing. It’s kind of like a never ending book. It just keeps changing by having new characters that you never knew, perspectives that you never understood before and plot lines that you never thought of added to it. Yeah…it’s just a weird thing.

  20. about it

  21. time is all about history. Without history the would be no today, no more icecream and small pleasures that you love each day that would never been there. So history is the building blocks of today, it is amazing. So next time you open a book or a look into the stars, why don’t you think of what history lies beneath those things?

  22. the boxes are full. grab one out… scan it through. i dont like what i see, do you? raise for another box. tumbles over. the pieces drift into colours. pretty. i wish history was neater then thee.

  23. Something I cannot regret or dwell upon. I can only learn from it and move on. If it weren’t for the past I wouldn’t have my present nor my future. Those lives that enter into mine are to be taken as they are. I cannot judge them for their previous years. I do not live for perfection and I do not look for perfection. I only wish for honesty and integrity. My heart remains open and welcomes those who treat me the same.

  24. We’re working on out history together. We’re building what we hope will be a text book’s worth of experience together. The trouble is, like a lot of old history textbooks it’s starting to fill with wars. I guess peace never made for an interesting story.

    by Carrie on 06.23.2011
  25. It’s the biggest illusion that mankind chases. Organised illusion. For one it’s over, what the hell are we doing chasing something that doesn’t exist?! It’s what’s around you NOW that matters. But no, so long as the human mind will be caught in its own cobwebs history will matter. When one king bashed another – why should it make a difference to the chocolate melting in my mouth now? Mind stuff. Illusion. History.

  26. History it what makes us remember what has been said and done. We love learning about it. From cavemen to dinosaurs, we wouldn’t know about these things without history being our only friend.

  27. History is made when there is a change in the current status quo. Usually, the change is controversial because those in power rarely desire change. However, history is written by the winner, and so those with strength and perseverance can change the world.

  28. They once told me that yesterday was history, and I guess I can believe that. But part of me aches at that lie. History is bold and beautiful. It does not quake with fear, tremble in agony, or crumble in defeat. It does not blink an eye at what has happened, it only sings out the song it must sing. And it does so with grace. History is ivory-skinned, with long lashes and supple lips, and a voice like freedom. It plays upon your strengths, mocks your weaknesses, and calls your bluff. History doesn’t play fair. It is not a fluttering, whispering mist that settles into a muddled heap once it’s blown by. It is an iron stronghold, never bent by the wind, nor rusted by the sea, nor tarnished by the rain. Yesterday is forgotten, blown away with the stars each morning. History is not so. Because while some may forget what is was like when the iron fortress was nothing more than a strip of cloth hung over a branch, no number of manifestos will make those some remember what yesterday did whisper.

  29. A time line of brilliance. Beautifully interesting. He who does not learn history, is bound to repeat it. It is interesting to see how civilization has developed, to look at it all as if it was a riveting story.

  30. History is an odd substance that recreates itself over time and space. It is fragile yet concrete and strangely malleable – but always repeating itself.

  31. History: the only thing that is certain in this life. It has already happened, is insatiable, and lives within all of us. We can learn much from it and take all of it for granted.

  32. i was considering becoming a history teacher. i find history very interesting, as it lead us to where we are today. just like myself. i have a lot of history with friendships, relationships, and so forth. i like to look back on it to know how i ended up where i am today.

  33. i love history. i majored in history. i actually decided to major in history in the 10th grade with my history teacher mr. allen. well i didn’t decide to major in history with him. it was because of his class that i decided in my subconscious that i wanted to major in history. it took me a while in college to come to my sense that this was my major, my destiny. i love history.

  34. Does that girl sitting out under the McDonalds sign, with her cowboy boots on the pavement, cigg between her index and middle fingers, sunglasses on twenty minutes before midnight…is she an Ashley, or is she an Ashley? Girl from nowhere-town Midwest headed for the big city, dressed like someone with a past. Sure, when white girls wear cowboy girls it’s cute, but when you wear them you’re just a Beaner.

  35. it helps us from repeating our mistakes, by teaching the young what happened in the past, and what went wrong. It helps everyone understand how we get the cultural differences today.

    by Jesse on 06.23.2011
  36. A timeline of human’s past and the events that occured and the people who participated in it. The exact parts of what makes us know what has been done and what we have accomplished in a period of over a million years. From the dinoaurs to cavemen, it all begins there.

    by Marissa Stacy on 06.23.2011
  37. I used to mix history and science up as a child. My teacher then told me that science was nature and history was the past. I still wonder what the difference is. Except I kinda know except not really. She was a good teacher.

  38. Our history goes back to before the beginning of time, even though its only been under two years, but so much more to come. An eternal love that started before we met, and that will continue on before we die. Perfection. Baby, it’s love. The love. One love.

  39. History. It’s what happened in the past and what’s happening every day. History never ends, because it’s always going to be happening. History is boring to me. History shows other people’s mistakes. History doesn’t forgive and it doesn’t forget. It helps you remember, good or bad. History can be interesting. History is what makes us who we are today.

  40. every step we take in this world leaves an imprint of us. we leave a legacy…a history so to speak. people learn from us. they learn from the wars we wage, the economy we live in, and the way we treat people. so the question is, what history will you leave? will you leave the kind of history people will want to live for? or will you leave a history that will shame us?
