I remember the last time I got to hold you. It was already cold where you live, though it wouldn’t be cold for months where I live. We were in the dropoff lane at Chicago O’Hare, kissing so deeply we almost fused, our arms around each other as if it were possible to hold on forever. But, as if to remind us of the impermanence of joy, the parking attendant loudly broke us up. I visit this moment often, and in my heart, I hope you do too.

Don’t let go to those who are close to you.
Don’t let yourself go.
Don’t let it all slip away into the distance.
Let go of holding on.

“Hold me,” she said. “Just hold me.” I did as she asked, and I held her close to me. I loved her, this silly girl who won my heart over so many years ago. It didn’t matter that she was now old, frail, and dying. I loved her still. I held her close and remembered our love.

HOLD: to hold, to behold, to be held, to love, to learn, to hold dear, to find what we hold onto is what makes life meaningful and precious. We must know who we are to discover what life is. Behold I am me.

I feel as if, recently, I’ve put my life on hold. Previously, I’ve been held too tightly, and now I want to give myself some time to breathe. Some space. Some intangible sensation that allows me to control my own life. I have an irrational fear of boxes. I need openness. I need it.

You always like to hold the ones that you love. I love to hold my children, and be held by the man that I love. It is the highlight of my life and I enjoy it immensely.

Winters and snowglobes. Holding an entire catastrophe in your hand. No waves sloshing. Some vague ether. Hoping for juggling or rocking, but only receiving deathly shakes.

Even though every muscle in my legs was screaming to stand up, to just get up and run away from my current situation, something held me there. Something kept me from getting the freedom I craved, forcing me to stay and face the hell I had created.
By vish on 03.05.2010
hold me tightly so that we never are apart. A mother holding her baby, father holding his daughter or lovers holding each other. It indicates spreading of warmth, love and affection between them. A basic indication of trust.

I breathed heavily, holding on with my last reserves of strength. I didn’t need much of it, because his hand was clasped in mine, steadily. I was unable to think, unable to listen or speak or cry or laugh.

hold on to what you have, because one day you might miss it. you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone, and that’s the truth. also, hold on if you feel like letting go. you don’t want to miss out on what you could have had.

Hold on to this moment. This music. This is it. This is my life. The birds chirp as the keys chatter. It’s is day and night and dawn and dusk. This is the world.

if i could hold it
it’d be held
in the palm of
the sun, the moon, the stars
it’d be whatever i imagined,
but only if i held it
for a moment

hold, hold on to my hand
and take me with you
along your roller coaster ride
of ups and downs, and in between
I’m sure it’s where I need to be
if you could just see

I want him to hold me. I want to hold his heart and soul. Hold. Held. Feel. Touch. Keep. Want. Need. How many intentions are there behind the word hold. I can hold right now. I could have held in the past. I dont hold anything.

He held my hand.
I didn’t like that.
But I didn’t say let go.
I just didn’t really care.

Hold. Hold onto those transient moments, those in-betweens, those seemingly inconsequential blips of time that somehow amount to a lifetime. Hold on.

maybe you want to hold it in your hands, feel what it’s like, take its attention away from the others to focus on you and only you. why would you do such a thing to it? have you ever wondered about the way it shifted under you, if it really ever mattered in the first place?

Sometimes I hold things and think about how much better life would be with only three fingers. You get a thumb, a pinky, and a middle finger.
If everyone had this, would anyone know they looked like aliens? The weird ones would be the poor disformed with 5 fingers. All of them would be assigned a position at the beginning of life to be an all star baseball pitcher.
Then you hold a pitcher of iced tea and wish you had two more fingers to grip it with, because lets be honest, iced tea is heavy.

Is this extra strenght hold, she asked the stylist? I have to be able to do this at home. It’s a very big night for me and I’m pretty nervous about it. I gotta know my hair’s going to be absolutely perfect.
By Tess on 03.05.2010
a grip of his hands made me think of the warmth that I’ve been longing for. I don’t know why I’m feeling like this but I love the feel of his hand. It was just a simple touch but it meant so much more. He looked to my face and smiled at me.

i hold onto everything. or at least i try to. Sometimes i hold far too much. embracing things that happened a long time ago. I wish i could let go. i wish i didn’t have to hold on to such things.

I hold him closely to me and press my lips against his stubble. We don’t even think and we’re breathing with our noses smearing against one another and oh the music in the background is terrible but for now it’s only my leg wrapped around his hips and a flash of a camera somewhere that I don’t really notice and maybe it burns more than it should but I won’t let go.

The bus was growling behind me and the man who had just thrown my suitcase onto the lower deck was gesturing for me to climb aboard. As I turned to get on, I heard a voice calling from behind me -
“I’ll miss you, you know.”
And I whirled back around to face him, ran into his arms, and prayed that he would never let me leave.
