  1. she sensed the door before she knew it was there. it creaked open and she walked inside. it slammed shut and locked behind her. the lighting in the room was terrible, just a hanging bulb on a string, but even then she could see there was no way out.

  3. the lock on the door creaks as I try to open it. It is obviously aged and hasn’t been used in a while. The door opens to reveal a long hallway with 20 doors or so. Each door appears to have the same lock.

  6. Locks are part of one of my favorite items in the whole entire world. The Key. I love everything about the key. The mystery of whether the key and lock are actually holding something in or if they are actually keeping something out? Who knows, it brings much mystery to our boring lives. It gives us a sense of wonder and is almost like a movie, it lets us escape our daily lives and indulge in something that is completely meant for entertainment.

  8. I don’t know what to say. The first thing I thought off was like, a locked heart in a relationship. Kinda like a marriage or a really good relationship. Too bad mines not like that :( But yeah, locks and stuff. Go locks!

  9. a lock the most secure thing you could possibly think of, no floors no breaking. nothing changes or seeps through in a secure lock. holds everything in place.

  10. I believe that a lock down is in place where I work some days. People believe that they are locked into their positions and their lives. Perpetual lockdown. We are all in lockdown when we are not fulfilling our greatest achievements, ourselves.

  11. I wasn’t prepared for his challenge. Old man Branigen turned to reveal a small wooden box. “Open it in under 2 minutes,” he said. Shocked, my eyes quickly scanned the box. My focus fell upon the peculiarly shaped lock, shaped like a flower with no apparent openings for a key.

  12. Close the door, now lock it. Good. Open the window, it’s hot. Maybe turn on the fan. Flip on the lights. Look down. Are you tired? Okay. Put on pajamas. Actually, just take off your clothes and throw them in the hamper. Turn off the lights. Sleep.

  16. Lock and key and heart. There’s a necklace lying on the dresser. A thin silver chain. On it hangs a wrought iron key, too big for the delicate chain, too powerful looking, too ancient. He left me the key but took the lock with him.

  19. There’s a lock on my heart. I want to see who cares enough to search for the key to open it. Only then will they be worthy of what I’m holding inside. Locks aren’t always a setback. Sometimes they test you so much, so that when you unlock them, you’re a stronger person than you were before you opened it.

  20. i want to put a lock on everything that i have in my life now. I’m afraid of the change that will come when i leave for college in a week. Life is too good right now to not put a lock on the people that are in it. It’s too bad that change is the only permanent thing in life.

  28. locks say things. they tell you that you are not allowed inside, that there is something on the other side of the lock that is secret, and important. I lock my house, my car, i lock up the dog when I leave, lock teh bathroom door when I pee, or shower. No one ever locks up that which they find unimportant.

  32. maybe someday, someone will find the key to my locked heart. i locked it very tight after all, and someone will have to work really, very hard in order to find the key. only i know where it is, and how to reach it. anyone willing to try hard enough will find it, but that doesn’t mean ill be as easy to give it up so fast.
    you must be brave, trustworthy, a good listener, a comedian…
    maybe i’ll give it up.
    maybe i wont…
    it is something that can only be told in time.

  39. It is used to hold shut things. To block or keep things/people out. They can sometimes do more harm than good… Especially if you lose the key! :P
    Well it could be a lock of hair too I guess! :D

There was a lock that didn’t fit any of the keys I could find in the house, and i wondered everyday as I grew up and saw that lock on the door what it could be, or why my mother and father never talked about it. I had tried to pick the lock before but I never was able to crack it: all I could ask myself, is what was in that room so important to keep locked away?
