  8. Managers are good in some ways and bad in others. In some ways they are good because they keep order and tell you what to do. In a bad way they are control; freaks but that’s a kind of good thing, only I find that incredibly annoying. I don’t like control freaks which is a bit rubbish because I’m one.

Not in a way that you’d notice at first; perhaps if you jsut passed fleetingly, or allowed your eyes to just glaze over the products in the window, nothing would seem amiss. But anyway, my friends and family seem to have good managers these days; there have been a few in the past that have been bad, but still.

  37. Manager

I don’t really like managing. I like doing. Managers tend to sit back with a lot of paperwork in small offices with desks and phones. – That’s not my idea of living.

If people need someone to get them organized I can do that. I can “manage” people, but I wouldn’t want that to be my every day job.

I’ve often annoyed “higher ups” by turning down managerial positions and staying at my lower paying job. Their confusion about my not wanting the “honor” of their promotion – or the pay increase – and their lack of understanding as to why anyone would like the job I currently had, told me a lot about how much they’d lost touch with their clients and the mission of their companies. They no longer dealt with either. They dealt with paper.
