  1. maroon is a colour, I used to think that it was blue because the name sounds like ‘lagoon’, and lagoons are blue. i then later found out it was more of a burgundy colour, but i still associate it with the sadness of the colour blue.

I was planning to go to live in Mount Pleasant, because I was supposed to go to school there. But my financial aid didn’t work out, and now I’m looking for full-time work to save for a later semester. I have two interviews tomorrow. Maroon’s a nice color.

  6. Maroon

    Geek alert.

    Let’s just say, I don’t own one.

For anyone in the dark about that, don’t worry. That just means you’re NORMAL.

  8. Not her favorite color, but at least it wasn’t yellow; any time she wore citrus colors they made her look sickly and sallow, like the soon-to-be dead. Besides, she had a hand bag that would go perfectly with a maroon dress.

  9. The colour of the roof of his mouth
    seemed a silent serene green
the teeth tips an imitaition indigo

Now more plant than man, more
    marooned at than marching to
a mass grave, his sick siblings stifled
    under an umbrella mesh
of skin, then leaves, then dirt

  10. I saw this band once. They were playing at the park near my house. I could hear the sounds of the drums and electric bass as the echo shook my bedroom window. My sister ran into the room, slamming the door against the wall.

“Get up! Get up! Get up! Maroon 5 is playing!”

So I got up and saw Maroom 5 in concert.

  11. I was marooned on an island. Not a physical one, but an emotional one. I felt isolated, as if I hae no way off and I knew nobody would come to get me. Even if i made a signal, I was marooned.

  12. the color maroon is close to red and between brown. I really don’t care for the color but essentially it isn’t my place to judge it. Also I think of the band maroon five whom I don’t care for either. Or any band for that matter. At the same time, I havent really given the color nor the band or any band a chance. Maybe I shall make that today’s goal.

  13. White maybe pure and black surely the absence of innocence. Red is only ever angry in its passion and green lives in envy of your purple brown lustre that makes gold look tarnished and cheap. I would live for you, Maroon: forever sumptuous and lustfully, wonderfully rolling in debauchery with ever shard of light that hits your generous tones.

  14. Maroon reminds me of a curtain of dark red. It makes feel that the curtain has been burned, but of course it hasn’t. It also makes me think about the tribe called maroon.

  15. Maroon is the color of the skies that fall deep into the horizon. It takes over the mind of the wander as they look upon it. Clouded and beautiful it lights up the skies.. But careful. Maroon skies do not want to be thought upon as generic – it solely wants the freedom of the night.

  16. It’s odd how I could be described that day as maroon. Not quite angry, no. Not angry enough to be blazing red or crimson. But certainly not reserved enough to be brown. Oh heavens no, brown would have been far too dull today. Today I was in uncanny resemblance to that color maroon. Irritated, misunderstood, certainly not pleasing to the eye and constantly bringing up memories of a high school I hated to myself or anyone else who would listen, or at least pretend to.

  17. its a different shade of my favorite color which is red. it goes well with my color tone. i love this color because it makes me happy and fresh to see it.. there is also a band with this name. this color indicated prosperity and well being in a person. as i am from india, you see this color in our everyday life. from the bindi on women’s forehead to the color of the henna. it’s a beautiful shade.

  18. Maroon is a beautiful colour, some mistake it as red and others may mistake it as brown. Maroon is also a band, a good band, that I used to listen to when I was younger. Maroon sounds like baboon, and cocoon, and cocoon’s are very pretty. Swoon doesn’t really rhyme with it, but, swoon is a really beautiful word. Prune also kinda goes with it. Maroon spelled backwards is nooram, sounds like a unique kind of name. time’s up.

  19. The color maroon is really pretty. It reminds me of the band Maroon 5. I don’t really know what else to write about a color, it seems very silly to me.

  20. The color means so much more to her now. The moment of truth. The loss of innocence. He slowly tugged her shirt off of her body and threw it next to his maroon shirt on the floor. The mixing of the white with the maroon had so much symbolism…

  21. On an fall day there are a million colors reflected in the lake near my home town. Oranges, yellows, and even maroon show up when the leaves start to change. To me they represent the cyclical nature of life, you start out a vibrant green and end up a brighter more unique color.

  22. the color of slapping and the art of a plum. the name of a dumb person and bugs bunny’s fun. the sight of the serious blood bath that comes from a cut that’s as deep as a pocket filled with old rust.

  24. red, purple, macaroon, rhymes with racoon; i think i’m scared of racoons; i don’t really like the color maroon – is it sort of like crimson, as in, Crimson Tide? maroon is a funny color – a little too dark for my taste. i like green, blue and yellow the best. they’re all my favorites – and particularly the lighter sides.

  27. She wandered through the darkening city streets, thinking, but not remembering, and wondered how her heart had become marooned on this lonely island. She must have been a sight to passersby, mumbling from time to time, stopping for no apparent reason. Her world had be upended and she had no idea where to go.

  28. we turned around, our maroon and gold shirts proudly supporting our school colors. high school was a virtue, a necessity, something everyone needs to do. we wore this color to gym, on our school flag, and to all the football games and parades. it was what we are.

  29. I love many things, rap being one of them. Maroon is a good color, and the number five has a special place in my heart, between four and seven. I’m a little bit nuts and alone.

That song with Kanye and Adam Lavine was always half a classic to me. The original Maroon 5 version of that song I listen to as a song that sampled a Kanye song, and I listen to both alone on my island.

  30. The captain stood, silent. His arms and legs chafed by rope, his face burning in the mid-day sun, his crew chanting around him; spitting, jeering, mocking him. The voice which had once commanded was now buried, unable to reach his mouth because his own sword rests at his throat. But there would be no death, unfortunately. They decide to be “merciful”. To spare his life, but to leave him stranded. Marooned on a mosquito bite in the vast ocean who no longer returned his love.

  31. Maroon. Maroon 5. Wow what a band. I grew up with that band. They taught me about love, about music, and every now in then, I just play they’re songs on my old boombox. Soaking in the beautiful lyrics.

He was surprised to see it popping up so often. His school didn’t even have a dress code and this wasn’t one of the school’s colors.
