In our society today, people are trying to change your morals, whether your Catholic or Jewish, Republican or Democratic.

I used to think I’d keep my moral compass when I got older but the more I learnt the less moral I became. I think naivety has something to do with it.
By Lexi on 06.26.2011
So many people today have lost their morals. I have seen the loss of morals in the professional workplace. Many people are lax.

There’s always a different option.
A different outlook.
A different side.
Some say do it. Don’t worry what happens.
But don’t do it. It’s better safe than sorry.
Isn’t it better to say something and take the chance? Risk it.
Yes. No. Maybe. I don’t know.
These battles of should or shouldn’t catch us in the crossfires
Wish we were born without shoulders.

By Philfee on 06.26.2011
it depends on whose morals your talking about Everyone has differant views on what the think is moral and immoral which makes it dificult to make laws, or talk about whats right and whats wrong. I have good morals i just dont follow them all the time. Kinda hypocritical but hey Im only human.

There was an old geezer with nothing better to do with his time but make up stories. And he also had an overdeveloped sense of right and wrong, which insinuated itself in critical locales of the stories he told. It’s a wonder anybody in his town put up with him. I guess they took pity on the rambling fogey who seemed to have lost somewhat of a modest chunk of his sanity.

So wait I just write about one word. I don’t really get it at all. So okay the other day I saw a unicorn with not only two horns but one horn. Isn’t that weird well whatever. Yay I like writing and writing. Then when I grow up I’ll be so happy. yup with me and a teddy bear.

Morals are a funny thing. My friends and I always speak of them, putting what is ‘right’ and ‘good’ on a holy pedestal, never thinking it possible that circumstance or fate might question it. That’s where my morals falter… or perhaps a lack thereof. I’ve always been a believer in fate. There is no concrete rules. Only situation and chance.
By xOracle URL on 06.26.2011
Morals can be seen as right or wrong. In your own personal rulebook.
By Katie on 06.26.2011
Can it be learned… extended to the youth by their parents and there are so many things that can go wrong but still… the world exists so I believer there is still hope and some morals intact!
By sigmasophie URL on 06.26.2011
morals are something we all have, though some of us have our own defination of them. society needs these morals to function efficiently. therefore with out morals our world would be chaos. my idea of a moral would be like the one’s you can get from a childrens story. such as the greedy dog.

It was a homely plaque tacked up on the bare wooden walls of the cottage, it was part of a poem an ancestor had made on night while gazing at the stars and dreaming of the future, “..curiouser Strange…”

Morals. It’s a thing that’s part of a story. Bet you didn’t see that coming. Tell me the moral of the story will you? The big story. The one called life.
By Kendall on 06.26.2011
I prefer it when there isn’t a moral to the story. It makes more sense that way. I watched a show the other night about how we’re destroying the planet and how we should stop. It was annoying. I also saw an exhibit about the aesthetic movement, who created beauty without allegory. Amazing.

She likes the bedtime stories, even if the morals are always stupid little things, like “Brush your teeth before going to bed” or “Eat your veggies.”
The little girl with the tiny face, big heart and beautiful blond hair adores her daddy’s stories.
By Iminent on 06.26.2011
there are two different people, one are those who read the books and study them to understand the morals behind them. As the others watch about them. watching is very different than reading because the smallest of details matter.
By krystal URL on 06.26.2011
morals of the world have really gone down hill over the years
honesty is gone for the most part
all think it is their right to steal from an employer just because they can get away with it
sad state of this world

“Morals,” she snorted. “They expect me to have morals? No one has morals anymore. None that really mean anything, anyways. It’s all a twisted picture they decided to conjure up for pure fucking amusement,” she hissed as a sneer crept onto her face. She whirled around to face the tall man and he shook his head, smiling.

morals are important beliefs to achieve a happy lifestyle. you grow up knowing them, knowing right from wrong and each person has different ones. they are how you know how to do what’s right and this is how people differ from eachother. killing is bad etc..
By kira on 06.26.2011
Morals are very important things to have. The way you are brought up makes your morals either good or bad. Good child-rearing equals good morals. Good morals are important to have in society.
By Stevie on 06.26.2011
His morals dictated that he stop for the woman sitting in the car with a flat in on the shoulder of the busy road even in the pouring rain. If it was his mother or sister or whatever, he would want someone to stop and lend a respectable hand or just see if she had called AAA. And he knew he would be having a guilty conversation in his mind with his mother for the rest of the 45 minute drive if he didn’t slow down and pull over.

Morals. Morals are what drive us as human beings. They make us strive to be something more than what we currently are. Some say that morals are relative. I say there are universal.

She only believed in causes, and in the fact she had many.

“The moral of the story is, don’t judge a book by it’s cover!” Mrs A screeched.
I looked at the dusty, old brown book in my hand I had picked up from the library; I didn’t think it would be so boring now Mrs A had given that speech. I opened the first page. It was in Italian, my native language. The first word was Amor. Love.
The moral of the story is: don’t stop reading; you could get a lot out of it someday.

There used to be such a clear cut line where my morals were– but that was when I was able to think for myself. That’s when I didn’t need people. I’m now spun in this web of societal and social approval, and there’s a blur where that line used to be.

By tyler on 06.26.2011
morals are what keeps you sane. what gives you manners. what gives youa goal and personal standrds. people who don’t have morals are people who are corrupt or just don’t think. morals are self abiding rules.
By shelby on 06.26.2011
I like to think I have high morals, though lately I’ve been sick of them. I want to explore and have more exciting times with more exciting people. I want to be bad. I’ve been good for far too long and I’m over it. I want more. Damn it. So much more.
By Janelle on 06.26.2011
What you truly believe is right or wrong. It really shouldn’t pertain to society, it’s an individual belief. How can the government expect us all to live by the same core ethics, the same ideas of what should and shouldn’t be done? Be free. Be yourself and listen to your heart. When you give in to what society wants you lose a piece of yourself along the way. Only care for what you think is right.

rummaging for a new notebook in the long forgotten desk my parents bought me in middle school i uncovered an old diary of mine from when i was ten. Inside i uncovered how hard my parents had worked to shape me into the upstanding individual i am today.

First time ever I am getting to this site!!I My first word is Morals. So morals?Where are these days?We should bring them back and have some respect with each other and then we can love each other no matter what.We are all humans after all.
By Cathy Mk on 06.26.2011
morals are a persons way of thinking about something and whether or not they believe that such an act or belief should be thought or done. morals can differ from person to person and therefore it is not right to judge based on such things as many factors could lead them to believe any morals at all. such as parents and friends.
By Matthew Norman URL on 06.26.2011
Is something everyone should have in life whether it be good or bad I really think morals are something very important without morals we don’t know what we should really do. If morals didn’t exist we’d have every man and woman going crazy and insane killing people and having sex and just being murderous.
By Dylan URL on 06.26.2011
i have no morals, so fuck you! i fuck who i want. i do drugs. i drink. i swear. i say nasty shit. i’ve been bad to people, but never on purpose. morals are fake. no one is really good. everyone is human and we all have a little bad in us. it’s okay to try your best but we all fail sometimes.
By MJ on 06.26.2011
I don’t know what to write about morals. what is the exact definition of this word? i’m not even sure. I just know it’s good to have morals. morals. hm.
By Gabby on 06.26.2011
My morals are nothing. They dont really have any real meaning against the enormity of the world. What good if one man opens a door another. Or i choose not to steal. Its a collective effort i guess, but i just doesnt feel like others are upholding theirs either.
