  12. Needles are used for sewing. They hurt when you prick yourself with them. So do pine trees. I like pine trees because they don’t lose their needles in the winter so they always look pretty, especially when they are covered in snow. I don’t really like the winter. Don’t get me wrong the first snow storm is super cool and exciting but then after about three days everyone is ready for spring.

  23. Hadn’t I been here beofre? I could see that the needle pointed west, still, but everything looked the same. Either this was the exact forsaken forest I had passed through, by my best guess, three hours ago with the needle of the compass playing a fowl trick on me or it was really a trick of the forest to repeat it’s leaves, moss and trees with shadows unruly to make you believe as the light grew less and less that the forest was the same as what you had passed. Despite all logic, I was inclined to believe that some fate returned me to the very spot I had been to before. My acquiescence was instant and complete as I let my legs give way to their tiredness and fell in place.
