  2. Proper nourishment is very important for a plant to grow in such a hot summer. It includes watering.

  3. I wanted to nourish my life with ethics and values. I am not completely successful but yes I am trying, so I know I will be one day

  4. He sits, silently, though I know he wants to speak. He nourishes me with his smiles. Even though I know he sees someone else. He isn’t looking at me, isn’t smiling at me, but I catch the lifts of cheek at an angle and feed the kindling with its flammable form and fuel the flames of blue-hot fire.

  5. Nourish is really only used when we talk about kids in Africa or plants. Today, I’m stuck dwelling on the former. No matter what, Americans tend to have a rubber glove approach to developing communities. We want to be charitable and love our neighbour, but we don’t really want to touch them too much or help the real locals. Even our rawest contact is controlled.

  6. I nourished the thought of you starting to speak again. To be like it once was, but the thought slowly vanished over time. The glimmer is left in case you come back like you said you would (more of a polite f*** you than anything else). So here I sit, waiting still, but no longer bleeding like before. Grudges are like hand grenades, and I had to let this one go before it destroyed me.

  7. He would spend all of his time nourishing her. He would feed her, bathe her, giver her lots and lots of love. He would let her flourish. But I stood there all of the time, trying to distance myself so I did not face punishment for intruding in his personal space (which was quite variable and would sometimes include the whole house), the wilting flower in need of care.

  8. Nourish my body, nourish my soul. It isn’t that hard, I swear. Spend a little time. Show me what you know about how to give me what I need. It’s not that hard, but, also, it’s not that simple.

  9. nourish the people. teach them to question, to seek out the absurd and embrace it with both arms, because after all isn’t the unreal our reality? teach them to doubt and to believe. teach them to strive and to grow and to expand their borders. teach them that enclosure is the only end worse than death.

  10. I don’t want to nourish anything today; I want to strangle something.

  11. The bud opened with a swirl of its skin dress under the touch of droplets warmed from the sun. Its growth was a marvel lost to attention and its life had been a series of coincidental saves. A deer had fled from a hunter and its hooves had trampled that flower buds friends, that hunter had followed and cleared the brush around yet his sabre had trimmed only just the tip of the flower buds head. Luck and sunlight and warmth and refreshment and strife and handicap had all contributed to its beautiful stance of violet streaks upon a deep blue.

Nourishment in any form delivers life.

  12. Plants nourish us all, we should treat our world with more respect. I saw a man throw a cigarette out the window of his car while I was waiting at a red light behind him. It started rolling toward me and all I could think was, “I hope that doesn’t roll under my car and ignite some gas fumes”.

  14. The rain splattered down at my feet, and I tried to stare ahead without crying. I was alone at the swings, and I was alone then, at the top of the hill. I didn’t sit on that damned bench; I stood and watched the water add up in the tumultuous river. If I thought about it, I knew the tears would come. So I thought about the addition to the currents–the fresh new water from above. I didn’t have any additions; I had subtractions from my outlets. And that was it. The tears dripped down my chin and joined the dewy grass in a dance I would never understand.

  15. Guess it was my time to play the role of patriarch. But I wasn’t ready. I had so much selfish impurity to indulge, and no time to care for the needs of these imbeciles. Why did they pick me for this role? I should have run away when I was 12.

  16. Come follow me. Let me take you on a journey into my world, into my private domain. I will take care of you. I will nourish you, sustain you and build up your self-esteem. I will turn you round and make you into a better person than I could ever hope to be. You have potential. Let me be your mentor. Let me be your captain. Let me inspire and motivate you and I promise I will safeguard your soul.

  22. The cold gray water nourished me, and I lay my head across the bed of pines and tried to sleep. The somber pounding of hooves against the dirt as troops sought for me has been reduced to an insistent echo in the left corner of my mind. I was almost too afraid to close my eyes, thinking that the men wearing black uniforms would return.

  23. I really cannot think of anything good to say. Hmm. At least I’m typing. That’s a step up from where I was before. I suppose that this will help NOURISH (heh-heh, see what I did there?) my writing skills.

    I’m thinking evil villains.

That’s what they always say when they’re being evil and they’re about to eat you! I almost never hear this word in a good or healthy context. I’m thinking Stephen King clown eating children in the sewers, and alien entities that prey upon hapless ships lost in space…

What the heck happened to this word??! ;)
