My mother is a violinist. She plays every day, the bow stroking each delicate string. She loves her violin. She loves it more than she loves me. Her disease has eaten away at her until she can barely remember who I am, she can’t be left alone. But she plays violin every day.
I am not one familiar with orchestras – interesting name, interesting concept – I’m more of a me, though. Or at least I like to think of myself as independent. Perhaps there is a conductor, helping me to feel that way…
When i was in 4th grade i signed up for orchestra but apperently they didnt get my application i was so mad but i got over it cuz orchestra is dumb but that is just my opinion
The maestro was nervous. His first performance was here. He felt the stomach acid flood his insides as the curtain opened and there was a quiet like the calm before a storm. he moved his arms and swarmed the audience with magic, a beautiful trainwreck of noise.
Explorchestra is the name of an ensemble that I’m a part of in college. Clever name, really: we exclusively play music that is written by members. We explore the music of orchestra members.
I knew she had never heard a live orchestra, and I knew this was my last chance to impress her. Hopefully they would be as in tune as I believed our two hearts to be. The lights went down and my blood pressure spiked. Let the music take hold of our love and take it to new heights.
the orchestra was loud; too loud for me to think or talk.
which was good, i didn’t need to do either. for days now, all my thinking and talking did was get me in trouble.
trouble was the last thing i needed.
Like marionette dolls they trounced and pounced and danced with their instruments. They loved these as extensions of themslves and the crowd loved them for their passion. With white faces, red cheeks and fire in their fingers they were like marionettes.
The orchestra dipped for a moment and the auditorium was enveloped in still baited silence. Thoughts formed, curlicue elaborate vines that clung to the senses as ears began to hear and eyes began to see, emotions held tight to hearts like bouquets of bravos, ready to be flung to the stage and the sky. Violins began to soar and their weeping rejoicing melancholy dripped like tears from the walls.
She slipped off her gloves. It really didn’t feel so strange not to be wearing her wedding ring after all. The show had been beautiful and sad, the keening music flowing through the entire room. If Olivia could cry, she might have tonight.
The tension in the air between them reminds her of the moment before an overture begins, just after the lights have gone down, no one breathing, so filled with anticipation. She wishes the maestro would make his move, so she could make hers.
When I see him, I hear an orchestra playing. When he comes up to talk to me, I feel like I could do anything. My heart sings. My fingers play perfectly on the piano of my life. I never want the music to stop playing. When I’m not seeing him, I think about him and the music inside me longs to burst out. But he is not there, so it cannot.
an orchestra is like a band but their is a whole bunch of instruments everything from strings to brass instruments. i am not a fan of orchestras unless it is at like a fancy ball or anything fancy like that.
when a big group of people get to gather and plAY instruments thats include flutes, violens, trumpets and alot of other things but i dont kno them all right at the moment!!!!!!!!!
life is like an orchestra-all kinds of knowledge, experience, different people in your life- each shaping the song at the end with all of its nuances and shades
That night I went to listen to the National Orchestra, they were playing their last show of the tour. I sat on the theater seats alone, wishing you were here so we could share this music together. Remember how you were the one who showed me the melodious sounds a violin could make? Do you recall how I fell in love with the cello and the harp? I vividly remember…you used to play for me, but now all that is left is the discordant sound of your absence.
Our eyes met, and an orchestra started playing in my head. Suddenly nothing else was relevant. Voices were drowned out by the symphony, and all I could see were his eyes.
oh, i think being an orchestra conductor would be an amazing job. because you’re basically just feeling the music, pointing to sections you know should play their sounds… you’re their leader.
She had spent too much of her time trying to control what could not be controlled, trying to conduct an empty orchestra.
She never stopped to join the audience; she never heard the beauty of nothing.
The music, the sound, and the story that can be told. Listen to it. Do you hear it? The way the orchestra sounds and how it is telling the story of a boy and his life?
