  1. i use these at work all the time. i hate them. i find them in my pockets when i get home. we paperclip papers, which gives me paper cuts.i hate those as well. i also hate sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day, but fuck it. paperclips gotta do something with their time, and im pretty sure they dont want to sit in a plastic bin all their lives.

  2. paperclips are tiny deices that are used to fix papers together. Though weeny, these are of great use and were widely used to pin papers until staplers came into being.

  3. All the students panicked as the school bus continued to sink into the river. “If only we had something to plug up the hole that water’s coming through,” said the driver, “maybe we can stay afloat long enough for help to arrive. We’ve not drifted too far from the collapsed bridge.” Mr. Edmunds tried to quell the cries and screams by saying, “Calm down or we’ll all drown. Think people — we need something flexible and malleable, but with a core of steel.” Mandy noticed Edwin sitting in the back row, wearing his helmet, eating paperclips and Metamucil.

  4. look at how they curve, the paperclips i mean. like i can’t believe something is so perfectly designed, like, look how it does exactly what its supposed to in this simply complex design, the paperclip, i mean.

  5. paper clips. clips of paper. tangled wire. bent, rounded, unpredictable. provide me stability, hold my paper. cut out my tonsils like a tonsillectomy. hold it all together, because I am not.

  6. Paperclips help hold things together. Without them we could have mad chaos and papers flying all around. Organization is what comes to mind when I think of paperclips. They help make the world go around with their unique way of holding paper together. Made of metal usually, and sometimes colorful.

  7. There is a canister behind the cabinet in which my mother keeps her paperclips. She fills the canister everyday with bits of paper clipped together. It drives me mad, those little notes, none making much sense to me, like “Her heart is still glued together” and “Nothing is wrong but neither is anything right.” Those notes are so important to her.

  8. Paperclips are the one sure thing you can count on to hold this world together. They often go overlooked and unappreciated like many of the small things in life often are. Think what would one do if one day they were gone??!! in a parallel way, think, what if one day we lost that warm feeling when we see someone we love smile, or if they no longer did things like make us breakfast or if on a very crappy day that person on the street didn’t say hello with a smile instantly making us feel better. These small things, I tell you, are things we must appreciate.

  9. You held the bits of my youth together, y’know. Little pieces, little bits of metal and plastic. You held them in one piece, so that when I threw them on the fire, they couldn’t all go up at once. The top sheet curled before the rest of them did, and I watched kindergarten vanish before first grade went up in smoke. All the way through my college years, and I wondered what it would feel like to have fire consume my skin, held together with little bits of metal.

  10. paperclips, useful for a lot of things. Most recently I used one to clean out my marijuana pipe. Very good for taking out the resin and smoking it when you’re out of weed. However, I usually use it to eject cd’s out of bad cd-rom drives.

  16. paper clips can be pretty useful when you want to temporarily hold together pieces of paper, and they even cool colors sometimes. however, for the most part, i find them pretty flimsy and annoying. my fondest memories of paper clips involve me twisting them around to see swirls in their metal but they always ended up breaking.

    by jess on 12.22.2010
  17. i love them. they hold my ideas together. my important papers… they make cool stick men and pretty nifty jewelry. if i could only figure out how to make them hold my life together.

  18. I used to write. place to pieces of paper together using paper clips. Then, put them under my bed for a later read. When i read those papers again, I will remember what it was like to be young and naive. I remember those days, as I read those papers now. Paperclips.

  19. I learned the “paperclips in love” trick when I was about 5 or so. You take a dollar bill, fold it in an S, paperclip 1 side to one side, and one side to the other, grasp the ends, pull firmly apart, and the paperclips fly up in to the air, linked forever more. If only real life were so simple.

  20. paper clips are sort of ridiculous. i mean, who really needs something to hold paper together? you can just fold a corner over. or if they really need to be stuck together, use a stapler. paper clips are like the lazy person’s way of finding yet another easy way out of a situation. and frankly, i’ve had enough of it.

i should stop using paper clips.

still have twenty seconds left, not sure what to do… I guess I just won’t do anything.

  23. what a wonderful invention. Intended to hold things together, these wiry pieces of metal have served so many so faithfully that they seem to represent something other than their original purpose. They are the small things in life that piece us together, that bind the loose ends of our daily lives into something meaningful

    by maggie on 12.22.2010
  24. Paperclips can be used for anything really, you can make a string hanging curtain, an animal, they come in various colours, so you can make different animals different types. I like to use them often.

  25. Why the hell are there paperclips here?
    I bend down closer.
Yep, paperclips alright. Silver. Bent. Metall-y bits.
Still no idea why they were there.
My friend once had some paperclips.
    Gone now.

  26. Mary took the shiny paperclips from her wooden desk drawer to connect the files together. All connected- like a family. So could paperclips be associated with love that binds a family together? Probably not- for love cannot be the glue that holds family members together; it’s safety, and usefulness that does that.

  27. one morning, Sam awoke to find himself turned into a paperclip. at first, he was upset because he would miss out on so many thing. however, after some time had passed, he realized it was good because he would be so much more useful to all his family and friends than before.

  28. Shinny metal objects used to keep paper together or to end boredom. They can be used to make jewelry when played around with. To pick locks, clean nails or poke people around. Curvy things that help catch people attentions.

  29. hold me together
    but please be removable.
i love you enough to bend you,
    but to break you,
    would be a waste.
    however,
    you make letters
    and funny little poppers.
and that is why i love you.

  30. the paperclips were scattered across the table like little reminders of how disorderly she could be, even in the midst of such organization. this made her think of the order of her life: how everything fell into such a disjointed place that she could not make heads or tails of one relationship from the other; things like simple office friendships were turning into blossoming romances and she couldn’t help but think — which one of these paperclips had pressed against her palm in that last throe of passion from the night before with glen from accounting?

  31. Paperclips are metal, and can be shiny. They bend, and make great toys, bookmarks, piercings, and something to suck on. I can always find a use for a paperclip, even if it is bent. I just love those little guys!

  32. plkip

  33. they are really useful holding things together, but then again they get in the way and are often on the floor and actually i prefer staplers because they dont fall off and are never on the floor, sometimes in movies people pick locks with them, or like in mc guiver, but i dont think it works and i definitely cant do it myself, probably useful but not as much as rubber bands and staplers i think

    by amanda on 12.22.2010
  34. the paper clip. as they swirl in such simplicity. they continue around just as life turns. with every circular life there it an end. as life ends as does the clip. they mean nothing and everything

  36. office news stuff funnies bunnies monies? The stuff we use to hold papers together. We must not have staples then do we? But they’re silver, which isn’t so bad. And they also come in a variety of colors now don’t they?

  37. The dull twisted paperclips sat in the desk-tidy, awaiting use – any use. Perhaps that most traditional of uses, the binding of paper. Or perhaps they could be unravelled, reshaped, new form given to fit specific purpose.

    by Edward Hanger on 12.22.2010
  38. Paperclips are like bad friends – they are meant to make your life easier, but are just never around when you need them. Good invention, but not the true paper mates.

    by icebaby on 12.22.2010
  39. Paperclips hold things together like relationships do, I suppose. They’re there to support and nurture. Sometimes, when you’re overworked and fragments of your mind are flying around, paperclips and relationships help bring it all back together. It’s like a coping mechanism. You can get them large or small, different coloured. It doesn’t matter. They all do the same thing.

  40. They are free like the fish in the ocean, but you need to be neat. You can not have paper flying everywhere you can use binder-clips but you use paperclips instead
