the senator sighed as he read the petition, bowing his head with exasperation as he tossed it into the waste basket. “Kids these days,” he thought “wanting me to legalize their acid orgy.”
Arguements. Disagreements. How to settle them peacefully? Words, words. If you don’t sign you mean nothing. If you do you’re just another face or name in the crowd. Is doing something useless for the right reasons right?
I’m writing a petition today to stop the use of cigarettes near any area that may in the present or future contain children or young adults or could possibly reach such an area. If you agree that cigarettes are harmful please sign this.
As if there were a better way to say it.
Your mind went wild with assassinations,
you thought we could make it.
We didn’t.
And all you have left, is some little fight,
your petition
people make petitons against things that they dont like, in order to prevent them from happenong. they do this by getting a large group of people to sing a form stating that they too dislike that thing.
I have signed many petitions. I couldn’t tell you what all of them were… I signed one in elementary school trying to get rid of our teacher. My friend most recently started one trying to convince our acting professor that she should receive cardio log credit for moving the heavy sets as a crew member in a show. I wonder if it worked…
I have always wanted to create a meaningful petition. Life is full of inequalities that could potentially be righted by creating a petition and raising awareness. Hopefully, I will create one soon. Peace!
that’s so stupid why do people think they can annoy people out of nowhere? I mean com’on if I’m interested in something i’m going to talk to you about it, dont come at me and please please I only have 5second questions… but he has 100 of them and they take forever! -_-” god! I hate them.
She thinks about it, she really does. But she doesn’t end up going. “Because that would mean making a decision about something in your goddamn life, wouldn’t it?” her sister mutters with a roll of her eyes.
Maybe, maybe not. She just… She’s scared and this is big, and she’s the opposite. She’s not brave or big or great or strong or any of the necessary things. Any of the things that Sarah is.
the responsibility of thinking that this piece of paper might bring to the people that are holding it. The pen that writes the changes needed. The pen that writes the signatures of those who have the courage to say something different. To be different. To make the change this world needs. The power of the pen and paper. The petition.
don’t bother writing a petition if you want to get things done
the people in power just laugh at those
if things were so easy to change just by writing your name down, shit -
i’d be rich, drunk and with women all the time.
actually, where’s the petition for that?
i’m sure everyone would sign it.
even straight women.
i’d force them.

Trying to get people to sign a petition to back up your argument or cause. David Cameron should have done a petition about the university fees. Hundreds and hundreds of people protested but he did it anyway because he is a f***er.
I think that a petition is a good idea if you are to need something to pass or feel a certain way about a topic or issue that may arise. A petition is a good way of getting things done the way you want.
When someone wants to plead or appeal or change something, he files a petition. A petition gives people a chance to change the current state of things so that it may favor them.
“Does anyone here even AGREE wit the clear cutting of the mountain? Do you see any point? Well I don’t, and who’s with me?” she questioned the crowd. They cheered and began to pass around a page that she had brought with her, prepared. It was a petition. It was their last chance.
sign change. Make a statement. Raise funds Make friends, People. Crowds, city, caring, listening, not interested, no eye contact. Keep moving, head down. Pen and paper. Names, Lists. Black and white.
They say that faith grows when you act without knowing the result but what he dreamt of required a veritable petition signed by everyone in heaven, if he really was to move this proverbial mountain….
Change. Unity of opinion. Need for growth. Make a difference. Take a stand. Use your voice. Don’t settle. You can do it. Sign here. We stand together. A cause. An argument.
Petition is the concept of moving others to your way of thinking. It is a means of gathering thoes of a like mind to a cause, and to get them to aid you in a quest of your own or someone elses devising. Petition that which means the most to you and it will not only show you what it is worth to others, but how useful it is as a concept to you.
“I’m going to submit my petition, but I don’t know if it will do any good.” Andy looked at her intently, “you don’t think the judge will understand? I’m an American. I didn’t know!”
Every day, feelings float around in black ink, waiting to be acknowledged. I don’t like what I’m doing, I don’t want to be doing this, I’m not for this. And they wait. To be written down in lined script, make a mark, make a meaning. They wait to be changed. To pummel the void with their weight in disagreement, to topple the walls with their clenched fists and see a fresh white horizon once again.
to fight for the right of something. something you believe in, to put either someone or something into power. for something you believe in. to sign something that if you obtain enough support, the thing you believe in or are petitioning about can be put into action
i want to make a petition for love. but not hippie style love but in a deeper sens and when I am at it i also want more freedom. true freedom not the one money provides.
Everyone should petition to stop wars. Nothing comes from it but death and destruction. Our nations receive nothing but hatred. What reason can be there to continue?
Sign the petition they say as they shove the clip board and pin in your face. A quick explanation but know real story, they hope you will jot your name down because your in a hurry. They’d re not use to people taking the time to be informed, theynprynin the business f the people comomg and going and their ultimate goal is not to inform the community but use the commu ity for one more signature one more name. It is time to be informed time to be in the know.
There was a petition going around the day that I was sick. He came to the door and knocked confidently. I answered with a Kleenex in my hand and a bottle of vicks in my other. I looked at the most heavenly eyes I have ever seen. He smiled and all of a sudden my stuffed up nose and drippy eyes didn’t seem so bad. In his hand he held a clipboard. I didn’t know what he wanted but at this point, I didn’t care. I just wanted to pull him in and find out exactly what this dream boat wanted because I felt I had a few things up my sleeve for him, if he’d have me, blubbering and all.
With an ear-piercing drawn-out screeching the van came to a forced halt causing everyone inside to lean toward the front in unison. Jensen’s eyes opened to a crumpled piece of paper lying on the van’s scraped and dirty floor. Written across the top of the page in calligraphic style was the word “Petition”.
If I wrote up a petition banning you from entering into another’s heart for the rest of your life, the trees would grow arms, develop motor skills, call me out, and sign it.
The protester walked in silence, her blank petition shoved in her back pocket. Not a single name had been penned to the paper that held the protester’s future.
It changed hands so quickly, so rapidly. Word spread. It was fascinating, and soon it got better. As things always do. This time with help – from friends, acquaintances and even strangers. All because of one man’s initiative.
there are petitions for everything it seems. i rarely sign one myself even when people post them on my faceboook profile. occassionally one will come up that i feel very strongly about and i will sign it. the last petition i signed was to outlaw polar bear hunting in canada by non aboriginal peoples.
