  7. the sun came up and it was a dawn sort of day. that kind of day that you just know has potential for good things. I wonder who i’ll meet. A man in a coffee shop, piercings and muscle covered with some skin. A woman at the grocery market, who just turned 90. How many people live in this churning learning town. And then they sleep again.

  11. To go up, off the ground, and rise into the air seems like the stuff of fairy tales.
    And yet, many of us despise having to go so high up in the air, flying in crowded airplanes, being afraid of heights, and yet, the bird’s ability to rise up and fly seems so…magical.
    What are we…complex humans, or just contradicting ourselves?

    Too bright. As always. It’s amazing how you can stare at the damned sun for two hours as it flies through the sky and it is ALWAYS too bright.

I have the greatest girlfriend ANYONE could ever dream of obtaining… She’s beyond loving; she’s intelligent, she’s loyal, she’s compassionate, she’s beautiful, she is my EVERYTHING!!!!   19. I think of the sun rising in the east. How it does so day by day, and how I rise in the morning to its light, peeking through the window curtain. I’ve never watched a sunrise, but it is something I would like to do one day. I think it must be beautiful, I imagine light slowly trickling over the world and the sky gradually moving from black to a dusky gray to a dark blue and then slowly lightening to the shade that we see in the day time.

  28. it’s mornng and the sun rises and i rise, we rise together,up we get, to start the day, to rise higher and higher in the sky, and then gradyally the shadows lengthen, we start to decline, we start to get lower in the sky, lower and lower and then – the rising is over – until the next day, until the next day – god have i still got time left, ok, let;s think, i am looking up to the stRS AT NIGHT AND I REACH UP, My arms lengthen, and i grasp 2 stars and start to pull ysel fup, up and up, i.nm rising into the spaces between the stars now, higher and higher until the word ‘high’ is menaingless, i’m out there in the vast vacancy of space.

  35. Knock. The old lady rose from the bed and it gave a shudder on its steel frame. It wasn’t her bed, but that hardly seemed sin enough to be woken up by such a horrid knock. It wasn’t a polite tap of a knock, but an angry knock like a policeman on TV thudding on a criminal’s apartment door. It wasn’t the kind of knock you heard in Sherwood; that’s why she was there.

  37. arise is one of my favorite songs by flyleaf and the word rise of course reminds me of arise. and to rise is sometimes to be more than you thought you ever could be(if that makes sense). and rise could also be to fly because you know rising high or something.

  39. Age 9 I memorized the lyrics to GREASE out of a photographic novel with cartoon captions retelling the movie scene by scene. In the Greased Lightning scene someone mentions “getting a rise out of your levi’s”. I had no idea what they were talking about but I liked the rhyme a lot and ran around saying it often.
