  1. I wish that I was on the east coast right now. I would be alright with the blistering cold if I could be on a real beach, with waves and rocks and animals and people who are real people and not just form fitting clones. I would love to go on a boat, with breeze and drinks and conversation that was too hard for me and required me to struggle to keep up with it. This idealistic faux-European setting, with laughter and age and history and life. And lobster.

  5. For some reason people have this obsession with sailing around the world when they reach a certain age. Am I right? Isn’t it almost common place in movies today that an elderly couple’s last dream is to get a sailboat and make a trip around the oceans… As if that’s even realistic? The amount of work (physical grueling labor) and danger that goes into a trip like that on a simple sailboat would be preposterous…

He had always loved sailing; he remembered that now, as he sat in the bow of the ship, eyes closed against the salty wind that tugged teasingly at his hair and threatened to lure him below, into those beautiful waves to be lost to the foam. Sailing had been his salvation as a child, and he knew it would be his death one day soon.

He knew in his heart that he would not regret that day, when it came.

  23. The sky couldn’t have been bluer, the air, crisper. It was a beautiful thing. As the small sailboat set off across the salty waves, we knew that the day would be a great one. I watched, squinting at the bright sunlight, as the seagulls flew through the air, calling out to us.

  32. I like to sail. Sail is similar to seal. A seal is noisy. Noise is full of joys =) Joy is in Texas. Texas is hot. Hot is my middle name ;) Names are used for everyone. Everyone isn’t a person. People are humans. Humans like boats. Boats are on water. Water means Sail!!!

  33. Sail away, sail away. If you know how sail. Because it’s actually a craft and an art. You can’t just get onboard and sail away when you fancy it. When you want to get some horizon. When you want to become free, when you want to escape stuff. And do you think it’s gonna be completely troubleless wherever it is you’re heading? I don’t think so.

  34. It’s not even light out, but we’ve already set sail on our boat made of intentions. The wind is blistering cold and it sings to us of places that have been abandoned by the sun, where the water lies still and acid. And yet we hope, though we have only just set sail.

  37. I set sail on the empty ocean, my mind sitting at a blank. I wished I could stay here, I wish I could love her, but I couldn’t. I had to take this boat, and I had to leave alone. And so I set sail, and I won’t be looking back. Becaues that ruins the purpose of setting sail. Of setting sail and leaving her alone. I will set sail.

  38. It is fun to sail in a boat on the ocean. I have never done it before, but I have always wanted to. Sail boats are very graceful, it seems, unlike those ugly barges that tear up the seas. I think that everyone should be able to try parasailing. It seems like a lot of fun. I have not done that either, but have always wanted to. I think it is magical the way the wind moves the sail in whichever direction it choses. Don’t you? There is nothing more romantic than a date on a sail boat at twilight. They are so peaceful and serene. Sails can come in many different colors and a variety of materials. We have a miniature sail boat at our house that is from a store at the beach.
