  7. The salt was drying on my skin. It made my skin stiff and me uncomfortable. I wriggled a bit. “Be patient.” he whispered soothingly. I looked up at him a slight scowl on my face. “How much longer? I don’t like being without water.” I whispered back. “Not much longer now. About an hour.” I gave a small grunt to emphasize my discontent. He laughed quietly and then pulled my head onto his shoulder. “Shhh. Just go to sleep. If you do, we’ll be there before you know it.” My face became warm but I obediently shut my eyes and fell asleep to the slight rock of the train and the sound of his normal, human heart beating.

  36. I jumped in the ocean, the feeling if freedom overwhelmed me so much that I didn’t think about riding with the wave. Instead it crushed over my small body, the strength was amazing, I was unable to swim up o the surface…I was trapped and suddenly tasted the salty water fill my throat, then my lungs, I was drowning. All I could see were the sun beams coming through the water; I reached up trying to break surface, finally I gather enough hope and strength and broke through to the top. I had survived this; I was invincible.
