  1. This is where things take place. The world in the story. It can be anywhere, which is awesome. It can be space. SPACE. How cool is that? Or, it could be your Grandmother’s backyard. Kind of boring, though, so you better include zombies to make that worth reading.

  2. Every thing depends in what is around you. What you can do is determine by your surroundings. Yo cant do what you want to do. If you want to do something you need something to achieve your purpose.

  3. The moon hung in the darkness, an incandescent orb of light suspended on a string of crystal stars: the night’s favorite necklace.
It froze outside the frost-covered window, waiting for its audience.

One table, two chairs. Two plates, three candles…
But where were the four eyes?

  4. The setting was not the usual for that night for Josh. Him and Michael were about to run the mountain again but the sky had an eery cast to it and wasn’t sure if he wanted to go. He had no choice in the matter though, although he could imagine not going if he wanted to.

    by Noah on 10.06.2011
  5. The setting is simple. One chair, one coffee table, set up by the fireplace. A brick mantel with black and white photographs. In one of the photographs, there’s a fisherman with a long black beard. He doesn’t look too old, but he looks tired even though he holds an enormous seabass. His wife is next to him. She smiles. She completes the simple setting, the comfort of a cottage.

  9. The setting.
It will always affect your situation. In mine, I felt tense. So tense. But as long as you were there, I felt calm. My heart beated as fast as a cheetah, your hand, cold due to nervousness. It was a nice feeling. As long as your here….The setting will be the same. Because of you. And only you.

  10. Let set the setting. It’s a beautiful morning out, the dew has kissed the grass and all the colourful leaves. The sun is shining getting ready to dry the grass. Stepping out into the beautiful day would be awesome if it wasn’t actually blizzarding out.

  11. The setting is a dark and stormy night, and we’ve been fighting. I can’t explain what you’ve done to me in words only the feeling deep in the pit of my stomach my heart sinking low in my chest

  19. Setting

I learned how to make one folded napkin “thing” when I was little, and used it every time I set a table. It was a way to make a kind of “bed” or pocket for the utensils. – I always thought of it as a bed.

Fold a napkin into a simple triangle or rectangle? Unheard of!

I guess it’s not too far off a tangent to add that at Disney housekeeping always impresses me with their mad towel folding skills. I’ll have to corner one of them someday and ask them how that works. How many kinds are they taught… are there refresher courses… how much of their training is devoted to “towel folding….” etc.

(If you’ve never stayed at a Disney hotel, do an image search on the web. I’m sure there’s towel pictures out there.)

  23. She cried frantically and said, “The setting is horrible! Everythings horrible. I can’t do this. I can’t get married yet, everything’s screwed up!”
I’m going to a wedding tomorrow and I hope it’s not screwed up.

  27. “Don’t forget to put the napkins down first,” Abigail heard her mother cry from the kitchen.

    Fireworks were never anticipated more.

  28. The setting of a scene makes all the difference. I find myself carefully constructing that more than anything. How vast and vacant an area is, or how cramped and crowded a farmer’s market can be. Now how to juxtapose the two properly…

  29. the light is firm but gentle
    i’d say that’s a bird chriping
but it’s probably just the sunrise
filling in the blanks of my mind’s peace
and mom puts out the spoons
as i sit and watch the space between the window panes–
she looks at me through her smudged glasses
(though she was led to believe they’d make her squint less)
and asks, “so…are you going to help?”
I smile but my brow is furrowed, and I stand to embrace her shoulders
    she hugs back and says,
    “alright, love, grab the forks”

  30. i dont know how to descibe the setting i’m in, in my life right now. i feel sad, happy, lonely yet loved. I have everyone i need in my life, except someone to love me unconditionally. that’s all I want, love, unconditionally. I know it’s so cliche and stupid, and that I should be able to be happy without it, but it just feels like an empty void. I mean, I’ll get over it eventually, just not right now.
