  3. Is specific not like basic? Well, no, by meaning one is more specific than the other, but they both relate to the same type of thing, or substance, or context. I like the word specific more than basic, but I’m still not digging the specifics of it.

  4. Specific? That could mean anything, heh. Makes me think of sig figs, the idea of only being as precise as the measurement allows. People like to deal in specific absolutes, not broad grey areas. I guess that’s just how the world is. Be specific, direct; save everyone else from the pain of thinking about it.

  5. He wasn’t specific. About anything. He made every effort to be vague, to leave room for guessing. He never lied because of it. If you asked, you got half the story. And for most who knew him, that was enough. But it drove me insane.

  6. there is only one answer that can be expressed with this word it is something that only has one meaning and everything else is wrong if you think of this world you have you use direct details to describe the word or thing at its fullest. this something that cant be changed

  9. Please be specific. When you tell me that you don’t understand, you need to tell me what about the 5 minutes of instructions I gave, you don’t understand. I cannot go over the 5 minutes of instructions all over again, in more detail, therefore making it more like 10 minutes of instructions because then we will have used not 5, but more like 15 minutes of our time.

  13. Specific is a very general word. Specific what? Person, plant, book or animal? People are all specific. Hair color, nose shape, likes and dislikes make them all specific. Plants are just as specific though, overlooked by lots of people.

  14. How can anyone really be specific. When I think of this word I think of people who are web brains and are so specific. However in there specifying they always start talking about someone, or something else completely unrelated to the topic at hand.

  16. Whenever I mispronounce the word I say “pacific”. I wonder if a woman ever told her lover to meet her at the specific place but the lover only heard “pacific place” instead and ended up waiting in the wrong place, somewhere on the west coast, feeling jaded forever.

There are so many specific times that we needed to badly to work through and we never did. We just managed to go ahead. We found we were dangerous. We were vicious. We were monsters. And that’s just how it specifically went. We were determined to destroy, to kill, and to remove life and replace it with death. We are the infected.

  19. don’t tell me the details and tell me where to go it tires me. but at the same time tell me the plans of my life why you are going where you are going. do we have time for the details instead of all this information, just consuming. why do you point things out make sure you tell me why it matters where you want to go. i like the big pictures but all these things matter. is it a bad word. not. bay. hello

  20. Specific is the word used to specify things. I was looking for a specific album in the CD store when he tapped me on the shoulder. His septum was pierced, his eyes were blue, and he was in the metal section. I had that specific feeling of love and butterflies brewing. But love isn’t very hardcore, so it must have been bats. Black bats specifically, brown bats are for wusses.

  23. You all should be specific when you write about SPECIFIC. It is a synonym of particular. It also means individual; and my favorite, meticulous, which is common of how it applies to us intelligent ones. In so much as we are decisive.

  25. what can i say about being specific? Don’t say the tree’s are green. Say they are olive or hazel or whatever color they are. they aren’t green. Tell you’re story, give it details, and you will inspire.

  26. try and say the exact thing give it the right name and the right flavor color shade species the way it fits into everything else between each other not this one, that one, keep making words that mean something smaller something you can google once and get the right thing something you get an A+ thesis sentence on something that doesn’t give a vague response.

  27. I don’t like specifics. They are too limiting and untrustworthy. I sometimes feel like I’m expected to be specific, but I’m not. It’s too difficult. I prefer the vague, the unknown. Can that somehow be tied together with the specific? It’s hard to know. I prefer it that way.

  30. You need to be more specific. Tell me exactly what you did to her and I’ll consider your punishment accordingly. Do you want to be sent to jail for this because that’s what we’ll do, we’ll take her word for it because she has absolutely no reason to lie. If you just let us know the specifics we can piece together the story, and find out if you really do deserve jail. It’s simple; Just be specific.

  31. Being specific is being precise and correct and not general. specificity is key in talking because otherwise you are vague. specifically, just kidding. Specific is an adjective and is pretty widely used. it is helpful when asking for an answer that is more exact than whatever the idiot originally said. forms include specificity, specifically, specifics etc.

  32. Its not exactly a specific way of doings things but I find that that makes me enjoy it no less. You see the secret to living is a dying of sorts, a casting off into the ocean and a drowning in its depths. If you simply abandon all rhyme and reason and ramifications life makes a lot more sense.
