  1. It sprung forth from the ground, the last bloom of the season. It grew beneath the chilled September sky, face stretching towards every last bit of light it could reach. It could not prevail. As the sun set that very first day that it greeted the world, it too reached that endless sleep that marked the end of life itself.

  5. Oh my gosh spring happens sometimes guys. Like after winter and before summer. Obscene, isn’t it? Quite so, my dear. Other ways of being ‘spring-y’. Well. You could ‘spring’ out of bed. Or you could play with a spring. Maybe it’d be a bed spring. I don’t know. It could be anything, really. Springy, that is. Spring spring spring. Flowers bloom in spring… but no /all/ flowers. Some bloom at other times. It’s true. Look it up. Use wikipedia or something. I don’t know, you figure it out. I suppose I am almost finished here. I guess I’ll spring out the door, maybe to bed or something. Bam.

  7. Take a leap. Use something to make that leap count–make it a big one. Don’t worry about form, just feel flight. Feel propelled upward, forward, everward. Take advantage of the things that can help you fly. You don’t need to figure it out. Risk brings reward exponentially. You’ll land, eventually. But you will always remember that forward motion.

  11. There was a gate between the meadow and the factories. It opened to a long, ominous walkway with cement walls encroaching on both sides. After a moment’s hesitation, Tim opened the gate and walked through.

    He needed answers. For starters, where was he? Maybe someone in the factories would know. It was time to spring into action.

  16. Spring is not in the air. But I have a spring in my step, as I take a leap of faith out the window across the glass that separates me from the rest of the universe. They said believe, and so I tried. They said faith, doll, faith. And I told them to run backwards with their eyes closed; that would teach them about faith.
    And then I went and slept in the autumn leaves, because it’s not spring, and the spring in my step will only stay a little while longer.

  21. The snow finally was beginning to melt, dripping away and revealing new life underneath. Green leaves and pink flowers were beginning to bud. Life was beginning anew. Almost as though she had been given another chance.

  22. He knew he should have been grateful. Hand-me-down or not, having a mattress was better than sleeping right on the floor.     WRONG. Because it always freaking rains. ALL THE TIME. Mud=seriously annoying. Especially when it ruins your favorite pair of shoes.

  34. a small, cool mountain spring trickled down from the tall mountain. I dipped my hand in it, the cold water shocking me. i had a long, long way to go, and needed to stay hydrated for the rest of the steep climb up the impossible mountain.

  38. A spring trickles water down to the pool. At the pool I collect the water and I take it past the forest and hills, the swamps and plains, the mountains and valley roads. I take water all the way home so we can live again, again and again.
