  3. This stage is centerstage in my mind. A very odd conglomeration of what could have been, what might be, what should be, what is. A runaway stagecoach.

  4. They were stars but they felt like eyes and streetlights that felt like spotlights. I looked at you and my eyes were wide and i knew all the constellations were staring and i wanted them to blink out, look away, so i could wander off into the dark in peace. “I’m sorry. I don’t want this. It’s not you.” And i smiled my stage smile and my indifference was perfectly feigned. And the stars and planets winked and the moon smiled and everyone clapped for the performance of a lifetime.

If it is, does it matter what I do? What then of free will? Can I ad-lib my lines, or are they already there for me set in stone by some unknown director who will call me to Him when the curtain falls?

Breathe in, breathe out. Begin.

  30. she knew she belonged on the stage
the spotlight was made just for her
    her body made to
    entice every man & woman
with the shake of her hips
    and lure them in with
her eyes that shone brighter than
    the spotlight
but when she stepped foot on that stage
her skin crawled & heart raced
she hated their eyes on her
she felt like they could see through her
    gorgeous outfits
    to what lay underneath

But on the other hand we should play our part and our roles in life so there is an odd dichotomy to this isn’t there. Be spontaneous but also understand your position!

  35. It’s like everything you’ve ever dreamed of, one chance to make everything true and real, one chance to turn the world, your life, all around. One chance, under the hot lights, one chance, to follow the music and the meaning and the dream and everything you’ve ever imagined. One last chance, you might not win, but everything’s coming together and people can see you, can hear you, and even if you lose, someone might want you. It’s one chance, let the music flow and see where it takes you.

  39. Life is a stage, it’s just that simple. You get stage fright everytime you try something new, and you get frightened and apprehensive when you’re in the spotlight doing a solo. You look back at yourself and you often get amazed at how confident you had become. There is always an audience, someone watching your moves. And you’re a performer, and so whatever you do, affects not only you but other people around you as well. You get more friends as your popularity on stage increases, and you try so hard to please. You may often have to pretend to be someone else, but it’s ok, you’re on stage, that’s what you do best. Because you know that deep inside yourself, your true identity is still not lost, and if given the chance, will shine. Remember, life’s merely a stage! Enjoy and revel in the applause!
