  11. The little bird was gliding through the clear sky, looking for a place to stop and rest. The grass below was dotted with leafy trees, but none was attracting the little bird’s eye. Finally, he found it, just a few meters away from where he was now. He folded his wings and dropped to the target. Within a few seconds of diving, the bird was already near the woody branch.

  26. year after year they persisted in the tangle and suffocation of the neglected garden, ethereal blue, tall and graceful, delphiniums they called them, old fashioned cottage garden plants; it means dolphin, they don’t look like dolphins, but they have the blueness of the ocean, they spoke of the unending giving of nature, even when neglected and scorned. I came back and found the garden paved with carefully set bricks of pink and grey and I looked at the place that had been their bed and wondered if they were waiting beneath, imprisoned. What can still be saved, what will survive, what will come back and forgive and let us try again to live right? When I next see a tall, delphinium bending in a July breeze I will take it as a sign of forgiveness and another chance
