  3. Tables are pretty, They are useful for eating, holding things, having sex on, stabiliyu. What else are tables good for? Making forts, you can hide under them – also good for sex. They look pretty with flowers and table cloths. Mine is white with red chairs, very tiny – too tiny for sex.

In my house when I’m older I want a long oak table in the kitchen with benches and old fashioned chairs. Then a polished wood dining room table. I love bedside tables with warm lamps on them that glow and cast yellow light around the room to make the room look cosy and welcoming

  8. Empty chairs at empty tables…and my friends are dead and gone…

    That song.

I used to love that song. I always admired its expressive sadness. But now…after the incident in August…it hits too close to home.

Tears fall, unbidden. I try to hide them; I wipe them away and pretend they don’t exist.

  9. Tables, tables
    The maze, a labyrinth
    The man with the shirt that says;
    Beans not war. stands up.
    The swarm begins for the
    tables, tables, emptying.
    The cup-carrying, waiting for
    tables, tables.
    He takes his cups placed
precariously one on top of the
    other, the others, swarming
he’s left his table and they jump
put their things down as if to claim
the tables, tables, to rest their
    wary caffeine-soaked
tired and, exhausted to the core
    bones.
from the days and days of
    waiting, for tables.

  15. A+E….. T+C…. any possibility of names, all carved by lovers who think their world will always last. Where they still together now? These names carved into the tables, I wonder what kind of people sat here or at another table and thought that they will love the other person forever….

  16. The envelope sat on the table. It was torn open, and the contents lay beside it. The woman sat in a chair a few feet away. Tears streamed down her face. The mascara she wore stained her cheeks with each drop. Her nose dripped and she wiped it with the sleeve of her sweater. She buried her head in her hands and sobbed.
The letter on the table said just two sentences. “Hello beautiful. I love you till the end of time.”
She looked to the ceiling. Around her neck hung the dogtags of a soldier. Some men had brought them to her the day before the letter came. He wasn’t coming home.

  19. Tables. They can be seen as a simple way to start your day, or end it. They can be a gathering place for your family. They can bring joy, heartbreak and devastation in the form of information. Or they can be a life changer. “the tables have turned” is an expression used everyday, at the start of a new day, a new chance at an amazing life.

  20. Tables sit in rooms and stores and restaurants and are used without thanks for keeping our plates up, allowing us to write slightly more legibly, and taking our disgustingly unwanted gum time and time again. The only thanks they get is a lackluster polish every once in a while. Restaurant tables are the most hardworking.

  21. I’ll drink you under the table. I’ll drink you under the fucking table. Every single one of you.

  22. When you crawl under tables you feel small and insignificant because no one knows you’re there. You can’t see the world around you, only shoes and floor and the occasional bare foot or two. But you always know which feet belong to sage-girl because she stands uncertainly, like she might just evaporate into the air and be gone.
When you stand on top of tables you feel strong and powerful because you can see everything and everyone can see you. You can look down on all the people and say “I’m at the top of the world so you’d better listen to what I have to say!” But sage-girl never has to listen because she’s always lost in her own world, just outside of your reality. Someday you’d like to walk away from the table and join her, because after all, you can either be over or under a table, and that gets silly after a lifetime or two.

  23. I just got a new table and I love it. We didn’t have a table in our apartment for six months. It’s weird not having a table but you realize how much you miss it sometimes after countless dinners on the couch and sometimes you just want to do homework at a table and not in bed. I really love our new table and I’m so glad my boyfriend’s mom found it for us because it’s perfect and I’m using it right now to write this 60 second blab about tables!

  28. Strewn around the room were discarded sets of chairs and tables. There was no evidence that the place had ever looked whole, had ever been un-ransacked. A single broken mirror lay beneath an oddly out of place sign reading
today’s special: realizing that today isn’t special.
    And tomorrow won’t be either.

  29. We all eat at them. We sit d think at them. We laugh, tell stories, and share quality time at them. Tables, most everyone knows of them. What we don’t realixe is that they are a big part of our everyday life. Without them, you would have to eat on the ground, or after a long day of hard work, you wouldn’t have a place to just rest your head. They are perfect for placing things on, and are easy to decorate. They come in many different styles. Plain as a peice of wood, or very ornate and exageraite a sophisticated look. Next time you going into the dining room, think about how thankful you are to have that table. When you go into the living room, think about all the times you’ve set a drink or newspaper on your coffee table. Clearly, they are amazing.
