  17. The train whistle blows. Trains carried us across nations once. They were a great commodity once.
Now they transport cole, wheat and corn.

The train tracks are magical place to run, nearly always abandoned. And the power surge you feel when from some where behind you a whistle blows…
miles behind you but yet you feel as if it will be atop you in moments.
and atop you it is, you move to the side and watch it streem past, wanting to touch it. Touch the dying, changing, old fashioned legacy of the past. converted now to another degradement of the old.

The one I did just a minute ago was much better and more about the word transport than this one. I will submit this one and maybe get a different word. Peace, transporter.

  22. I rode the school bus every day in middle school. There were kindergarteners up to high school seniors on our bus, and the number one rule: don’t fall asleep on the bus. Once, a guy ended up with trash from the floor in his mouth, and one other time, someone’s CD player ended up missing… Kids are cruel to each other, but the bus is life, life is the bus at that age…

There’s something odd and predatory in us because of this. I push against you; you press me back. And we love it. I love it, at least. I love the pushing, the pressing and the pulling.

  32. A tear began to fall even before he stepped back, off of the transporter pad. Of all the times, of all the places, of all the opportunities, he chose now to say he didn’t love me. We’d been a couple all through the academy. I’d helped him pass his finals. He never could have done it on his own. But now, on the transporter pad, time stood still. Subconsciously, I could feel my tear slide down my face, around my mouth, and down my chin, until it finally fell. As I transported to my first ship, I imagined that my tear remained on the transport pad, the last remnant he would ever have of me.
