  15. The upper chain of command sometimes gets out of hand. Sometimes people in higher authority lets the power get to their heads. Power is good, I like power, but sometimes people don;t know how to handle it…I would say more often than not.

  18. The house sagged in defeat, vines crawling up the sides. A hole in the window on the second floor allows me to see through, though the surrounding glass isn’t exactly clear. I stand on my tiptoes to try and get a better view, but branches grown into the walls hide the inside. I can’t help but wonder what this used to be.

  19. The upper floors were the only ones left. Italy ran upstairs to the fourth floor. He had to hide the keys, before the thing could get them. He had to put them where he or Japan could find them. The keys always seemed to gravitate towards Japan.

  25. It didn’t take long to get the upperhand. These so-called “Warriors” were the unchallenged worst team in the league, so no one was surprised when we went into halftime up 20-0. We went into the lockerrooms with our heads held high and our tongues whetted with the taste of victory.

    But that arrogance would become our downfall. Our quarterback, who had been perfect all season, threw his first interception on the first play after kickoff. Then his second on the next drive. Then his third.

    We went on to lose the game 24-20. We went home with our tales between our legs and the bitter taste of defeat on our lips.
