  2. You speak of the violet hours
    Where the flowers bloom
    Under the moons soft rays

And the waves caress our feet
As we walk hand in hand
Watching the sun set in the distance

I whisper softly in your ear
    Words of love and passion
And you smile as your lips touch my cheek

To our left, the ocean blue
To our right, flowers of violet and red
The sky a brilliant shade of orange

You lay in a field of flowers
And bring me down with you
    Tangling your body with mine

    Your lips meet with mine
    And soon we are entertwined
Laying in a filed of violet and red

  3. I love this color. My workout clothes are violet. And people who see me at the gym always compliment me that this color looks too good on me. And i recently got my pedicure and manicure and i painted my nails violet.

  6. The violet sky in the summertime. If only the doctor would have time to come by and whisk me away to a planet where all the people where this one color. We would obviously have a hard time fitting in wouldn’t we though? Ah the things my mind wanders off to when he is no where to be seen. I just wish that it won’t take much longer, he needs me you know.

  7. roses are red, violets are blue…..violets aren’t blue though. they’re purple. so why is it that they say violets are blue? were these odd violets? maybe to signify the rarity of their love? that’d make sense. who knows. plus who wrote that poem to begin with? Bet they wish they’d have patented it….

  8. Violet.

Her eyes were violet. Violet like the satin curtains in her room, like the blankets on my sister’s bed back at home. Violet like the way the colors of the sun and sky meshed together while barely peeking over the horizon at sunset.

Those violet eyes whose gaze I loved to meet and I will never seem them again.

  9. Violet is a lighter shade of my favorite color. I would never wear violet, but brilliant purple i adore. Violet i would imagine would be a good color for sheets or bedding in a young girl’s room. But not to wear.

  10. There was a time when the flower was just a simple, thing. Now I look at it and it is so vibrant, so terrifyingly alive. Before yesterday, I wasn’t scared of the grass or the petals or the spirit. It was just a flower that I could hold in my hand, crush between my fingers. Just a flower….

  11. Violet. There is something soothing about her dance with blue… shimmering. Wildfire burning above them. You can see the flame lit up in their hearts. It’s no wonder they are in love!

  12. The meadow had a soft breeze. Kelsey wavered, not quite sure what to do. She had so many expectations pressing down upon her. What if they didn’t accept her? What of the past happened all over. She lay down in the grass, brought her nose to the dirt and sighed.

  14. a flower, and a girl i used to know. :) also, the colour.

  15. Her huge violet eyes enraptured me, even in the darkness. Her sad smile a testament to everything I had gone through to get to this moment. She was my inspiration, my reason to still be standing here today. She was perfect.

  16. Red and yellow makes orange, yellow and blue makes green, and red and blue makes purple. If you thought that was confusing, you’d hate this next part. Purple has an alias. The only time I’ve ever really heard it used is in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. “Violet, you’re turning violet!” Purple is also called violet! Crayola has everyone brainwashed with their crayons and markers and colored pencils. They have us brainwahsed into believing that purple and violet are the same color. Sorry if I kill your dreams; they’re not the same. They are very similar, however they’re not the same.

  17. Her favorite color was violet, but not for the reasons you may think. It wasn’t because it was a girly color, or because her favorite dress just happened to be that perfect shade of purple, it wasn’t because all the other girls liked pink and she wanted to be different. She liked purple for the way the light seemed to reflect off the lilacs in the front yard has her mom pruned them, or the way the wax melted slowly on her single violet candle. She wasn’t sure what it was, but something about the color violet just grabbed a hold of her, seizing all of her free will in the matter, and made her unable to favor any color over violet.

  18. Though many of the older women in my neighborhood would call the violet a weed of a wildflower, I’ve always admired the way it pops up where least expected, adding a tiny blotch of colour to the sparse roadside. I wish I could be that spontaneous and get away with it, you know?

  19. Violet,

    Sometimes I wish
    I could remember everything
So the bad could be good
And the sad could be the rad
    So the happiest of moments
    Engulf me in bliss
    Sometimes I wish,
    That life, wasn’t like this

  20. Violet was a church pastor, she was also a whore, she like to take it doggy style and watch the flowers in the garden, despite her name she didn’t like the Violet Violets. She was more of a San pedro girl, more of a poppy kinda girl. She like to live wild and no holds barred. She like to live dangerously. She liked to live. To live she liked. Violet.

  21. The Violet dress sprung against her skin, making her look beautiful. I couldn’t believe this was it. The woman i loved was being claimed by someone else.

  22. Violet is a significant color that could spark childhood memories. Barney the Dinosaur and Tinkie Winkie of the Teletubbies are two examples of characters from children shows that have this color in common. Not only could “violet” relate to childhood television shows, but it could also symbolize springtime. There are several types of violet colored flowers. Spring is a happy season, and thinking about your childhood could be happy as well. So violet, in my opinion, is just a color of happiness. Does this color make you happy? (:

  23. I don’t really know the difference between purple and violet. Aren’t they the same? Then again, no two colors are the same. Colors are unique, just like people.

  24. David blushed softly as his makeup artist oggled over the bruises on his neck, which had started to turn a dusky shade of violet. She pursed her lips and made up her mind to keep her questions to herself, instead trying to figure out what shades she could use to hide the marks from the camera. A pity this Doctor didn’t still wear a scarf.

  25. One word cannot describe the emotions that persists in my heart. Feeling of despair of the unforeseen future. Will I be happy? Will I be lonely? Will I be loved?

These lingering thoughts just makes me wonder, or just maybe worried.

  26. This color used to be my favorite. So it kinda brings me back to my childhood. It makes me sad to think about how much things have changed. I think of my old room, and how this was on the walls. And now everything is painted over in that room with new things. I’ve grown up.

  27. Violet.
To my brother, it’s just purple. Meaningless and easily forgotten.
To my mother, it’s a flower. Just one among thousands of others filling her garden.
But to us, my father and I, it could be anything. The middle of a sunset, caught between the blues and pinks. A dragonfly’s wing, light and transparent, yet filled with color. The flecks in her eyes, surrounded by unnamed shades of blue and gold. To an artists eye, violet could be anything.

  31. violet is a beautiful color. it is the color of serenity. it is the color of innocence. it is the color of peace. it is a representation of beauty from within. Violet represents a flower; a flower that grows tall and beautiful. It blooms and adorns the earth with beauty.

  32. When I think of violet, I remember this book I used to read as a child. It was a series of books about these kids, all brothers and sisters I think, that solved mysteries for people. My favorite character was violet, only because I love the color purple. She was the youngest, and I was young, so there was another connection. It was a very good book series and I read damn near every single one of the books. Sadly, I grew up, and I have no idea what book series it is. Sad day.

  34. breathless, i am left with forsaken memories of you…. bright fireworks, mostly in one, memorable color… washing us in royalty, leaving us rich in love, and wonder, and the pride of being human.

  35. Roses are red, violets are blue, I’m sorry to say this but I still miss you.

    by Daraann on 07.21.2011
  36. Violet sat in a corner waiting for him to walk through the door. The clock on the mantle ticked away, but even as the second hand circled over and over, he never came. The rain outside didn’t do much to improve her mood either. She was brooding, and she felt that the weather was encouraging her restlessness.

  37. in the violet hour i catch fireflies rising up like steam from thick grass

  38. The vibrant violet sunset cast strange shadows across their faces as they stared at what had become of their town. Smoke rose from the embers, as their homes quietly disintegrated into the flames. The fire crackled and spit out the skeletons of their malls, schools, and offices. The people knew whatever the new world became was up to them: the survivors.

  39. Is not blue, nor is it green. it is the color of royalty. the color of our betters. our princes and our queens. it is the color of the opposite of the commons. some might say autocracy, tyranny. i say it is the color of purpose. the color of those who lend to us their souls to better our lives, while forsaking their free will. the color of nobility, violet. it must also be the color of sorrow. what is the color of duty?

    by Mikael on 07.21.2011
  40. Violet. It was my favorite color as a child. It meant happiness to me. Every dress, skirt, shoe, and outfit was violet. I wasn’t just a happy child, I was one of the happiest you’d ever see. There was nothing that could bring me down, until the one day that destroyed me.
