  1. wade through the water
it hits your knees and you keep walking
the cold water creeps up your body

  2. I waded into the water and let its coolness drift over me. The current flowed about me and I knew then that by taking just those first steps I was becoming more. Wading into water was transforming what I knew about my life. And I wanted it more than anything.

  3. I want to wade into the water and just feel it on me. Feel the cold. Feel the wet. I can imagine my toes sinking deep into the wet sand and feel them crunching the sand up beneath them. I go further. I lay my head back in the water and just float there. Just breath. Just be. It’s so peaceful on the water. I like when my ears go under. That way I can’t hear anything, anyone, and the world is blocked out.

  4. My stepdad. I guess we get along, but that’s because we don’t really bother with each other, and that’s how I like it anyway. I don’t really like to bother with anyone.

  6. I wade through the crisp clear waters as the coolness dampens my legs and invigorates me, radiating shivers throughout my body. As I wade I become entangled amidst a wad of green silky seaweed strands which threaten to tie me up and send me down deep into the depths of Davy Jones Locker.

  9. The ocean is a scary place to be caught in a storm. You never know what will happen. You start to worry about the sharks down under when you should be worrying about the waves that will catch you. The lightning cracks and you wonder why you ever decided to wade into the ocean so late on a moonless, starless night. You think you may never see land again, suddenly realizing the harshness of what you’ve gotten yourself into and say goodbye to the world and you fall under.

  10. I wade into the ocean and the word “wade” has so much to it, doesn’t it? Imagery and whatnot, with the water rising to my knees as I take several tentative steps forward. “Wade” like Kim Possible’s techie guy, “wade” like when you mispronounce “wait” because you’re calling out to someone and you’re rushed to catch up but they’ve completely left you behind.

  11. Wade called me today. I haven’t seen him since his brother disappeared. He looks older. I guess we all are. Secrets have a way of aging even the innocent. What took place is all a blur to me now. A benefit of getting older. I wonder if he feels the same. After all, it wasn’t his fault…I think.

  12. The sun is beating down on his back as they enter the water. He wishes he had brought a bathing suit; he had not known it would be this hot. He contemplates swimming anyway. The water is as blue as her eyes and sparkles the same way they do. She sparkles. He loves the way the sun lightens her brown hair and adds more freckles to her pale skin. Some day he will tell her this.

  13. wade into water. wade into your imagination. wade, a boy.
    wading into san diego beaches….

  14. I moved through the water until it was up to my calves, and i saw your eyes looking up at me as though through glass. I felt your palms on my shins, warm and soft and then searing hot, and they glowed bright bright bright when you removed your skin from mine. Your hair was golden seaweed wheat that undulated and twisted and twirled through the water, and your eyes blinked twice. I bent my knees and reached through the water to touch your face, your eyelids, your chest, but you moved away from me and i could not reach you. I caught your eye, searched it for the light of the love i felt for you, but instead you smiled your smirky, salty smile and laughed bubbles that broke the surface and distorted your image until it was unrecognizable.
“don’t be surprised if i someday leave you crumpled in a heap on my kitchen floor.”

  15. Wade in the water, I love the song and it often gets stuck in my head. But I don’t think that I’m allowed to sing it because I’m white. I remember hearing it on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air and thinking it was really cool.

  16. I didn’t bring my bathing suit so I only take a few steps into the lake, cautious of the waves that wet the bottom of my shorts. You dive in and swim far out, you are a much better swimmer than I am. You seem to want to put distance between us, maybe thinking this will make our conversation easier. Neither of us knows how to begin.

  17. wade reminds me to waddle. Penguins waddle all day long, but don’t really have much of a purpose in life. We, as humans have purposes in life. We are made in God’s image to serve him, Although we may stray like blind mice in the streets, we do not know how important we are.

  18. I waded through the water, feeling the wonderful touch of the silky water against my skin. As I waded I wondered if I could even use the word wade in the sense that I am. Can I say ‘wade’ as the past tense verb ‘waded’ ? Confusion ensued. To wade means to move through, does it not? I’m pretty sure it does. Is this supposed to even make sense? Because the first sentence is garbage, but I was told to not think but simply write. This is me simply writing. Can I use wade as waded? I may never know.

  19. I like to wade in the pool sometimes. It’s fun to wade in the ocean too. You can look for sea shells while you wade around in the ocean. I think I may just go wade in the ocean on my next vacation.

  20. Wade in the water. All of the children wade in the water. God’s gonna trouble the water.——-Eva Cassidy

  21. in the water. All I think about is a bit of O, Brother Where Art Thou? and older church women. And then a guy’s name… But that isn’t what this ‘wade’ is… Or like… Roe v. Wade… And then there’s this shirt that makes a play with ‘Row’ v. Wade and has a dude in a boat looking at a dude wading in the water…

  23. Her daughter’s plump pink fingers clung to hers as the waves lapped their toes. The sun’s warming rays were no comparison.

  24. I went to wade on the beach.

The water was fresh, cool, and it stretched out towards the gray horizon. It reminded me of everything that I could never had, an anomaly, something so perfect that it seemed impossible for me to even touch it. And despite the footprints that I left in the sand, the beach didn’t love me back.

  25. The water is cool around my skin as I wade my way further and further into it’s murky depths. The moon is soft on your flesh as you give me your winning grin. This is crazy, reckless even, but you’ve always brought out the worst in me, the part that wants to be set free. The night is as high as we are, and I feel at peace.

  26. she waded through the sandy water to get a sea shell. it was pinkish, broken off at the left edge. the jagged edge added interest to an otherwise perect shell. she smiled, arms outstretched, as she nearly danced back to the shore. i held her in my arms and heard her beautiful heart beat. this is my daughter, my beautiful dragon warrior.

  28. The water rose around her ankles, a chill chasing its way further up her body. The chill clung to her as she moved deeper, till the water brushed the tops of her rolled up pants legs and then spread higher without her help.

  29. I wade through the murky beach water as everything from uprooted seaweed to aluminum cans float by me. I think I see a fish somewhere down there, but it disappears from view with a glint.

  30. Look at me wade on the sea of bullshit that comes out of your mouth

  31. Wade in the water. Wade in the water children. Wade… in the water… Wading seems to me like such a peaceful, calming activity. You can’t wade viciously or vigorously. It is something that you do to test the waters, or to supplement your thoughts.

  32. There is sometimes a pool of water at the end of my street. It has always appeared there. It’s a giant pot hole and every rain fall it fills with water. Sometimes after a large storm, I put on my boots and wade through the waters. It’s an abyss of dark water, a peaceful place. When it dries out, I stand next to it looking up at the sky, waiting for the next storm.

  33. Like a pool. deep, wet, dark, water. Floating, flying. There are lights around, lights that shouldn’t be there, but for some reason, they are here, with me now. Like lanterns glowing in the water as I sink, and fly above them before my chest hurts and the lights go out.

  34. We waded. It was about waist deep. It was cool and refreshing. It was more than just a creek and some muddy water. It was about being young and careless. It was about laughter and friendship. It was about bonds and ties that have held us together through all these years.

  38. D wade thought his team could win this year, but he was wrong. In some ways, Dwade is more likable than Kobe, but there is an arrogance factor that I don’t like. Here is a player that won his only championship based on new rules making it easier to get to the free throw line, and he had Shaq. Does that make him a great player if his only championship comes questionably and not as THE MAN? Wade in the water children.

  39. I waded into the water and suddenly I feel pure again, like the water is some sort of magical cleanser. It washed away my bad memories and my fears and all was once again perfect in the world.

  40. a shallow pond and cut-off jeans. lily pads and animals are pushed away from the rippling created by your gentle movements. the water is cool and clear and all you want to do is sink into it and bathe, wash away the hard work that’s wetting your skin. The sun is high and the trees sway in a soft, warm breeze. Sink.
