  2. I waver between the idea that things could be better, and between accepting that they aren’t going to be. It’s less than two weeks, now, though I couldn’t tell you exactly how long; I’ve gotten farther away on my oscillating trip, shaken from the side of obsessive to merely dreading. Just waiting, hoping the here and now can hold me faster than the then and there will ever do.
I need to escape these memories–this flirting with future that you’re in.

  4. “Do you think I care?” Thomas caught the waver in Ashley’s voice. “Yeah,” he turned. “I do.” He closed the distance between them but stopped just short of touching her. The air sparkled between them as, like magnets, they attracted and repelled each other. In an effort to regain equilibrium, Ashley closed her eyes. Yet, instead of calming, her thoughts whirled out of control, and she crumpled. Thomas caught her in his arms. “Put me down and leave,” she demanded furiously. “I want to be alone.” “I don’t think so,” he answered as jolts of desire flew through them both. “In fact, I think I’ve left you alone far too long.” Suddenly, he stood perfectly still. “Look at me,” he demanded quietly. “Look at me and tell me you don’t want me, and I’ll go.” Ashley raised her eyes to his, determined to dismiss him, and crushed her lips to his in a searing kiss.

  20. “Hello”
Just one word, and my heart stopped. Just one word, and my voice wavered. Just one word and all thoughts in my brain suddenly stopped forming.

Why now? Why did you call? Why did you have to bring down everything that I have desperately tried to rebuild? You were everything I ever wanted and you quickly and carelessly ended it all.

  31. Waver. I guess it has something to do with waving something. I am waving a flag, but instead of waving, as a verb, it’s probably an adjectif. A waver – y object. I actually don’t know what waver is. Wave, water, watering, wavering, i don’t know where it would come from, end.
