  1. One day, on a whim, I went for a walk to get a cup of coffee. I was not a coffee drinker. I did it because drinking coffee in a coffee shop was something I could do with my time and made me look cool. Now, I just need my caffeine. This has become somewhat of a pattern with things in my life. Some call it addiction.

  2. on a whim. whimsy. I have considered myself whimsy. whimsical, maybe. but whims are weak. sweet, though; light. what else? I really like this word.

  7. what is a whim? in theory, it’s something that we do impulsively, instinctively. we do things “on a whim.” but how whimsical are things, really? is there anything in life, any decision, any choice that is really done “on a whim?” even the etymology suggests that we should strive to know the basis of the source of the whim. the who, what, where, when, why of the whim.

Why do we live in a world where we have to wake up, go to work, eat, sleep, and repeat? We live so short. Why don’t we just live our whole lives on a whim? Doesn’t that make sense to you?? I think it does

    You always look so
    sad.

I arrived just in time to see one duck on top of another duck.
A little embarassed, I looked away, but looked back just to notice that the top duck was actually trying to drown the other duck.
That’s the last time I walk to the duck pond on a whim.

  32. It was all on a whim. That one leap of faith that had led up to this moment, like jumping off the highest diving board at the pool, except there was no water below, only stars and dreams and ether. And I jumped, and when I hit the surface of the pool I began to float away.

  35. I opened my eyes today on a whim. It was only then I could see the cold winter air blowing on this beach.
