  9. My mom used to forget her keys all of the time. She would leave them in unusual places. We would joke that she could find her keys in the refrigerator.

  10. jingling. a subtle alarm. as the guard walked past the seemingly resting prisoners, the movement of his hips signaled his position and when they were at a safe distance to begin their work. As the sound rounded the corner, the prisoners “woke” and began digging.

  16. There are so many places that one could lose keys, but it always appears to be the most obvious place; a pocket, in a drawer, on a different table. However, what if I lost my keyes in the fridge? Would they taste nice on bread? A key sandwich? Key Lime Pie. I’m assuming that’s where it came from. I would cherish the sharp coppery taste I think.

It reminded me of when I had my glasses on top of my head and was looking around like a headless chicken while they were JUST there on my head.

  21. keys open doors, doors lead to new rooms. metaphorical keys come to mind, traits like hard work, honesty, all that jazz. keys also bring to mind ownership: you possess the object to which the keys belong. if you hold the keys, you hold the more important thing they unlock, like a house or a metaphorical ‘new room’ of new possibilities.
