  5. The pressure is doubled as the period of the deadline went from months, then into weeks then into days, then into hours, and now into mere limited minutes. He managed to finish his manuscript on time, what’s left to do is handing it over to his publisher and wait for its final verdict. But as the remaining mere minutes become into sheer seconds before he hands over his final draft to his editor, he felt a deep discontent in his latest work not only because he felt that it isn’t competitive enough than his earlier novels but also he felt it isn’t up-to-par than what he envisioned it to be.

  6. people have to compete against others in order to win if you are not competing against others for your goal then the goal is not worth pursuing unless you are the first to ever do it.

  7. This word has strangely negative connotations for me. It’s strange because throughout my life competitions have been apart of it, one way or another.

  8. I will never feel complete here on this earth. There is not the substance or means of completion anywhere in the world. In fact, completion is probably a myth. What is it to feel complete? Completion arrives only in death. And if you’re dead, you don’t feel, so by definition you can never feel complete

  10. I can’t compete with myself sometimes. The spells I cast two weeks ago were much more potent and powerful than the ones I can manage today. I need to recharge. But the full moon won’t be out tonight. The clouds will let a tiny bit of light through, bit nowhere near enough to get me out of this slump.

  11. It was insane, especially as the southerlys were bringing wild storms up the coast. But there was such beauty in it. Taking yourself out into the water with unwindable odds to compete against mother nature. Feeling the full force of the ocean swell up beneath you, surrendering to her rhythm. It was the only time in my life I ever felt graceful, gliding through that glassy tube of green blue heaven.

  12. To finish something. Something am I have never been able to do. I’m a failure at life but I don’t care.

    “Stop,” gasped the shorter, rounder boy behind her. “Stop, please, I can’t make it.”

    “Come on,” she laughed, her pace quickening.

    He slipped and fell into a puddle. He scowled at her disappearing form. “Why must everything be a competition?”

  14. Two dynasties. One with the most beautifully, crafted silk. The other, honing fabrics from their livestock in every dyed color imaginable. Two princesses from each dynasty knew each other well and knew how to craft the opposing dynasty’s trade better than the other. A competition was bred and so was love.

  17. There is a competition happening at the moment where various countries are pitting themselves against each other to try and discern which country is the best rugby nation in the world. I really wonder why it is that they would want to do this because everyone knows that it is one of the countries from the Southern Hemisphere.

  18. Completing anything is hard. I have spent my whole life trying to complete things. School is one of them. I try each year, but i always fail to complete it. It makes me fesl like a failure. Ill never be able to complete anything in lofe.

  19. dairy would not compete with meat when it came to the annual gourmet cookout. beans and sprouts were out of order, fish and clams being only second to the greatness of caramelized ribs and onions. it was a gourmand’s paradise, and a vegetarian pit of despair.

  20. I had to compete. I had to press on. I had no propose in life without beating her. I knew I was making myself mad. I knew I was going insane. But I had to reason to care. I didn’t have anyone to turn to or anyone to consult. I was just competing. I. Must. Win. It was my only hope. To survive I had to win. But the first step. Was to compete. To get through this pain. To not burn with the fire. To not freeze with the ice. To not be buried with the earth. To win. You must compete. It was the only thing keeping me sane

My life had fallen apart and so did every thing about me. I had no idea who I was or what my purpose was except to win. To compete. Never letting anyone tell me what to do or who to be.
