your thing to do, that you are aware of and somehow it’s a must. You do not depend on it but it’s meant to be there to help you achieve a task that you allocated to yourself.

So many things to do in life. To do list. No. He calls it a DO LIST. It seems demanding, his constant need to check that checkbox. And so very opposite of me. But secretly I admire his drive and desire to get things done.

A checkbox. I think I have one stowed away in my safety deposit box. I cannot remember the last time I even wrote a check–for myself that is. My ninety-year-old neighbor, who I care for daily, has me write checks for herself frequently.

CHECK BOX REMINDS ME OF EVERYTHING I NEED TO GET DONE IN THE DAY. IT TELLS ME THAT THERE IS SO MUCH TO GET DONE AND I WONT GET. TO EVERYTHING AND THAT’S OKAY. IT’S ABOUT SPREADING WHAT I HAVE TO GET DONE OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. IT ALSO REMINDS ME OF WHAT I NEEED TO GET DONE BY A SPECIFIC AGE, BUT IN REALITY EVERYTHING CAN BE DONE IN YOUR OWN TIME

Once, a checkbox stood in front of me, it was big and checked and green, It felt as if id done something right. I did not know what i had done.
