you are when the moon is beautiful, and all the words i hate to use: honey, slow and sweet, sticky and hot. the tighter you hold me the better, he said. but we’re not going anywhere. the sky is dark. the last train calls.
Sliding, slipping, red shoes fast, not stopping, heart pounding, grass-stained knees, getting up and back to the starting line to do it all again, screaming “Watch me!” because I’m 100 fast.
woof these aren’t my own words, but I just watched a ted talk video where brene brown spoke and she said something like we can talk about race without talking about privilege, and we cannot talk about privilege without talking about shame. that hit hard. I think this kind of attitude could potentially help people who are usually completely uninterested in having important conversations about race or deny racism, to open up.

The race to the top of the hill was very dramatic. Even though the runners were all strong, they still wanted to get a head of the other runners so they would cut in front of them, and try to trip them. At the end, three people go to the end, but one still cut down the other two with his knife and he was declared the King.
Sickening hollowness expanding it’s home between white cages. Breath unsteady and loosing control as both heat and ice crawl over wet flesh. Too late.
