If there was one thing David could relate to, it was getting cheated on. He knew how it felt, that sting in your heart that you hadn't been enough to keep them there and faithful. "It's okay," he says softly, wrapping his arm around his daughter. "He's not worth it," he whispers.

It was a cold winter morning when I got the phone call telling me my ex-husband had committed suicide. It hit me like a sack of bricks. Evan had never been known to have depression, but I guess people change. That much was obvious since he was my ex-husband and not my husband, something that was not my choice.

lean

I never had to lean on someone before, the feeling was like I imagined it to be. Chilling. I didn't like to admit defeat easily, and leaning on someone was doing just that. But at the same time it was comforting and it wasn't hard to see why people did it so often. It probably would not be something I'd visit often as the chilling feeling outweighed the comforting ones. Humans are such odd creatures, I thought smiling.

adventure

It was the first time she'd ever been on one of his adventures. She wasn't even sure why she had told him yes. Perhaps she was finally bored of her old life. It's not like she ever did anything. Went to work and came home, and maybe now she was actually fed up with all that. Up ahead the path turned and Rose couldn't see Henry anymore, but for some reason it didn't scare her. And that was an adventure all in it's self.
