That's what makes pretty people beautiful. what make beautiful people radiant. Anyone looks better when they genuinely smile. My head is full of puns and jokes just so I can see what a person looks like with a smile on their face. It can convey so much emotion with little subtle differences.
I'm trying not to forget. There's so much I need to know. I don't want to forget, but it's hard. I can feel it slipping slowly away. It hurts to try and hold on to those precious moments, but I keep my slipping grip with all my might. I can't run away anymore. I have to remember.
That's what reminds me of her. She always tasted and smelled like it. She always had a piece of mint gum or candy in her pocket or bag. Peppermint was her favorite. Now, every time I catch a whiff of it, I feel like crying. Now that she's gone. I don't know if I just want to forget, or if I want to hold on to each memory. Even if I wanted to, that damn herb won't let me forget.
Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. I watched in wonder as the little bugs flew around me. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. They were so magical. I knew exactly what they were, but they were more than science. I lifted out a hand to catch one. It landed there, blinking, blinding. I grinned and blew it away to blink and buzz with the rest of the fireflies.
Red and white. It was etched into my memory. It was like a flag of liberation. Freedom. So little, but it meant so much. To anyone else but me, it would seem ridiculous. I don't know why I loved it so much.
