I tried to influence her for the better, but she couldn't change. It was an uphill battle the whole way, and I hoped for both our sakes that there would be a change. She couldn't stand confrontation. She couldn't stand arguments. Not in a healthy way. Even the simple confrontations between lovers she couldn't handle. It tore us apart.
