Sparkling isn't just a personality or a smile. It's something that draws you in and glows with energy. Sparkling is a high compliment.
I'm so tired that sometimes everything seems bland. Not just the events, but the actual world takes on a hazy, half there half not taint to it. Like eating white rice that's been mixed with brown, a strange combination of two different types of bland that create the practical epitome of blandness.
I think everyone wants to be a little savage. Wouldn't it be nice to go completely Lord of the Flies- not for too long, not long enough to kill someone or start worshiping a pig head on a stick- but just long enough to rip your clothes off and jump into a shallow pool screaming at the top of your lungs. People always say to let loose, to relax, but I think what they really mean is to become temporarily savage.
Lilies are innocence but they have poison, don't they? Deep inside the stem and petals is a lethal surety. If you eat a lily, you die, don't you? Maybe not, maybe I'm mixing them up with something else. Still, I'd pass on a dinner with one.
Oil is slick, black. It's tar and it winds its way through the veins of the planet, stretching and coalescing to fit inside. It's crude but it's effective.
Sometimes people are stung by a thorn that no one else can really understand. Like a lion, they've got the thorn stuck in the paw but that you can't by their mouse and remove the thorn. It's unfortunate but the only course is to wait until they find someone else who can agree with them and soothe their opinion.
The tree trunk served two purposes. It carried all the memories of the leaves of course and it also carried everything that a great big plant like that could need. The veins of memory and water, thought and sun rippled through the trunk.
Yesterday was new year's. I drank kid's fake wine, apple cider when the clock counted down to 2012. But sometimes I wonder if that's the best way to ring in the new year.
I wanted to take risks this year, do everything that I've been afraid to.
But I drank kid's wine instead.
Sometimes people's eyes glimmer.
When they get that half smirk, half sincere smile, like they don't know quite what to make of you but you think that maybe, just maybe, it might not be half bad.
My eyes glimmer when I think about all the times I've laughed.
