I turned the thing over. I didn't know what it was, and I didn't know how much trouble it would soon get me in.
He said, "This is a new gadget I just found. It tells the time without needing to look at the sky. As long as you keep it wound it will always be there with the correct time."
I was hysterical that night. Anyone would have been, at least. I thought so.
My mom said, "Get a grip. He was just a high school sweetheart."
My brother said, "He scored with her? Wow!"
I just whimpered. Hysterically.
