He stared at the word for the longest time, thinking of all the learning he'd done.
"Ju-ice," he proclaimed proudly.
"Good try, but no, it's juice, "joo-ss"," his teacher corrected and his heart sank. He'd never get the hang of this!
She lay on the ground, arms and legs out like a starfish. It was surprisingly warm and the ground was a solid support to her weary frame. Then she felt it, a pull. A subtle draw down. A connection.
I can't. I just can't.
It's just a word.
