I stared down the hole. The sun glinted off my ring as it fell. One word filled my mind: Crap. That was gonna cost me more than a grand. it may just cost me my life. Or my engagement at least. There was an echoing ping. I had just dropped my fiancee's great grandmother's ring into a chasm that was at least 3 stories deep. Tears began to run down my cheeks. This was not good. David would probably leave me and his mother would positively tear me to shreds.
It burned. Everything. His skin tingled and his mouth stung. Thick, wiry fur sprouted all up his arms and neck. A scream tried to work its way out of his throat, but instead a howl bullied it out of the way. This was awful. What was he becoming?
