There was that annoying smile again. The girl kept on doing it. It was as if she expected him, of all people, to smile back.
He huffed in annoyance and turned away from her, staring out into the trees that fringed the road, pretending to look for any intruders on their property.
Maria glanced down at her bow and arrow before looking back at the grizzled Ranger currently doing his best to ignore her.
She cleared her throat and said quietly, "So when are we going to start the lesson?"
Will harrumphed and muttered, "When I'm satisfied that no one else is here, girl."
But he couldn't stop the corners of his mouth from lifting slightly.
