In thinking about herself, she realizes that she is not one to make sacrifices. Maybe one day, she consoles herself, she will love somebody enough to give up all her other selfish loves (the way her mind works, how she prefers tea in the mornings, the way she laughs when something seems really, really funny, the perfection of her solitude which, in the end, denotes her superiority above all others).
