Don't try to be so cool, it takes away from who you really are as a person. And what is "cool" exactly? Just because a bunch of people thing something is in, or cool, or the new fad, doesn't mean that you have to think that way too, think whatever you want to think about this new cool thing that they're talking about, and you don't have to not like it just to not be mainstream either.
