I hate the fire alarm at school. It's only gone off once this year for real, but they test it ALL the time. The sprinklers don't even work in my building, so the fire safety system is faulty at best. Way to go, university. Keeping me safe as I pay my money, right?
I hate those leashes parents keep on their children. It seems like a lazy way to parent. If your child runs off, then you punish the child. Just keeping them on a leash is degrading and is a cop-out to not parenting.
I love the new bear exhibit at my zoo. It has a river filled with salmon so that they can catch their dinner like in the wild.
Melissa looked over her shoulder. She didn't see anyone, so she quickly etched out her initials in the tree.
"M. N. + P. L."
It was childish and cliched, but she didn't care.
I love Jurassic Park, though the raptors in the kitchen scene scared me as a child (and still does, to this day). I wonder if there are people in my generation who actually became paleontologists because of the book and movie.
The Velvet Rabbit was one of my favorite books as a child. I loved how nice the book was, how thick the paper was, and how beautiful the pictures were. Really, the book was quite sad,
I didn't go to the beach until I was 16 years old. I went with my youth group, and it was subtly different than a pool. I still was able to swim, but since I am very petite, I was easily swept away by the tide.
Susan sighed. Geography class was so boring.
"And when the tides come in strong in the morning and weak at night, it is called..." her teacher rambled.
Susan stared out the window and daydreamed.
I'm not a good dancer. I learned how to swing dance when my high school did Grease, but beyond that I'm clueless. A waltz would be so much fun to learn, but I'd be scared I'd fail at it.
"With or without you" are lyrics to a song I can't remember the name of. I feel like it's a cheesy 00's pop love ballad, so maybe it's a good thing I've forgotten the song altogether.
